Singapore success is the result of leadership, honesty, determination, gret, political will and good governance. In spite of no natural resources and started in 1967 on a negative note, yet it rises to one of the Greatest Country in the World!

this was exactlu why i felt the creep when the koky claimed he built the reserves. apart from his definition of establishment to blur his bc n bs ings while he served in the CS. The CPF and the keep changing from the original purpose has robbed away n benefits the papists with low interests return n dwinding over the years when T n GIC made use of it for growth of reserve. the 25m bonus was really a kick on the CPF contributors amidst the Covid pandemic.

Every dollar we spent has its value maintained and paid for by MAS. Basically the part of the value of the dollar is paid for by our efforts while the remaining is paid for by the government efforts. That is where the some of the government income is spent on maintaining the value of dollar otherwise we still suffer despite our efforts. Just look at other countries whose currencies devalue uncontrollably.

What amazes me (as a European who has been living for almost 10 years in Malaysia) is that most Singaporean Ministers are quite young!

Please help mitigate the vastly different audio levels, please..

This CNA clip is grossly incomplete. It leaves out the extremely significant and inconvenient part about: (1) how the PAP government became the largest land owner in Singapore through the extensive use of the *Land Acquisition Act* between 1967 and 1986 to acquire land at very low prices, and (2) how Government Land Sales of these lands then contribute to the GIC since all capital receipts from GLS are directed to GIC.

The right person for the president to protect and safeguard the reserves is also very important and happy that Singaporeans had voted Mr Tharman for this important top job. I can see more pandemics, major market crashes, recession coming and it is even all the more to choose the right party to govern Singapore and not those parties that only knows how to find fault, criticise instead of providing alternative solutions.
Another biggest worry is climate change. You can see how bad Hong Kong is affected by the recent typhoon which Singapore is spare from it. On the longer equation, rising sea level is going to hit our shores sooner or later and I think our government need to have another stronger mandate to continue the work of securing our sea front areas sooner and not later. I believe in time to come Singapore will need thousands of hugh sump pumps to be installed along the coastline. I sincerely hope the project of securing the seafront from rising sea level to start now.

What happened to SVB is really scary, and goes to show that no corporation, however big, is immune to collapse. I have always had a deep-seated mistrust for corporations. I have plans to pull out most of my money, but don't know what to do with $350k sitting idly. I'd like to go into the stock market, maybe. Any ideas?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard people from the PH who watched videos about the Tallano gold. They said the PH gold are in SG. Is these the same gold they were claiming? 😂 some trolls and fake news spreading during the prev election mentioned the gold of SG. 😂

Anw, impressive for the govt from then and now on how these reserves are being handled and managed. Makes the country even more financially stable regardless of the crisis in the world.

If Singapore had listened to the Top medical experts on viruses and how to manage them they would have successfully defeated any financial blow. Plus, if the Medical community did not disregard past wisdom on managing diseases, Singapore could have come through the crisis, largely manufactured by the USA Media, as successfully as various USA States, Sweden, and various Sates of India. America always has their interests first before the World. Western Govt Health officials were ignoring truth in medicine to subjugate citizens. The Media played along as it gave them vast income from the Govt for advertising and it was another crisis they could exploit. Singapore was wise to not print money or borrow which was sound financial policy.
