Where did you get the section of door jamb that you used to replace the rotted section?
ОтветитьName of the cutter please
ОтветитьWhere did you get the door jam section from
ОтветитьWho does this kind of repair and what would be the cost?
ОтветитьUse pressure treated in that area is important
ОтветитьGreat vid! Thanks!
Ответитьthis door is installed backwards
ОтветитьSuper helpful video! I thought I would have to get the entire frame replaced for several thousands $$$! In this Horrible economy, my husband and I HAVE to do Everything DIY, thank you!
ОтветитьI am struggling to find the door jamb. I looked in the 2 box stores, in person and online, and only find a kit which is $150+. I am sure they have it, I just don't know if I am searching wrong or something. It comes just as needed, with the groove for the weatherstripping and everything - right? Any guidance you can provide?
ОтветитьYou don't have to reattach the jamb to the threshold? Nice video.
ОтветитьThank you, Sir!
ОтветитьThanks for the quick video. I’ll be doing this tomorrow.
ОтветитьDefinitely on the right track! But you could have done a few things differently to guarantee no future issues
ОтветитьThat was a good job
ОтветитьSeal that area with flex seal or something similar otherwise the frame can rot again
ОтветитьI never saw that blade before, where did you buy it? Thx
ОтветитьPeace! Nice video and thank you! I was wondering when I learned this (because I’m becoming a handyman) how much would I charge for a task like this on average? Bless
ОтветитьBefore you placed the patch in, I hope you sealed the end grains. If you didn’t water is going to wick back up into the patch and rot it out again. Otherwise, nicely done.
Ответитьall my door metal strike plate where the door knob slices in an locks the supported wood jam is all gone idea how to replace the supported wood behind it?
ОтветитьHadn’t thought of using bondo in a repair like this till you said it then my wife and I was talking about it and I realized you did that because of the door being an outside door and subject to the weather. The bondo will expand and contract like the original wood.
Nice work and thank you!
Being old school, I went primer and oil base trim paint as it far out lasts latex paint concerning the elements. My dad showed me this repair on our back garage door where the door sill rotted. He used a trim saw because back then there was no fancy smansy oscillating trim saws back then. I have since done several of these repairs over time using his method. I just invested in an Oscillating saw and have to admit, the thing is a wonder of science! I will never go back to the trim saw.
ОтветитьLike a boss!
Ответитьlooks good.
ОтветитьWhat tool did you use?
Ответитьwould be better if you did a half lap joint but nice work
ОтветитьLike it never happened. Nice work!
ОтветитьGreat. Thanks.
ОтветитьHow much does a job like this cost?
