VRR works best and actually only normal on OLED tv's. On lcd / led tv's VRR disables local dimming

Please reply, My PS5 was on its home screen. No apps/games/updates/saves/downloading were running in the background. Power outage happens, I turn on my ps5 back on after power returns. It shows processing , repairing console storage and your ps5 wasnt turned off properly screen. Has this happened with you? is the ps5 normal as before?

I got the Sony a80j and it works great

The cheapest TV with VRR and 120Hz is probably the Samsung AU9000 series, but keep in mind it doesn't have HDMI 2.1 just 2.0 so you won't be able to do 4K/120Hz but 1080p/120Hz works fine. I bought one a while ago for around €500 and I'm pretty happy with it, for me 60Hz is smooth enough, I don't need 4K/120Hz, I rather have more eyecandy at 60Hz than compromises at 120Hz.

I have sony x90h it has vrr but it locks the picture mode to game mode which i don't like. As i use Vivid picture mode. Any solution?

VRR disables or severely lowers local diming in all FALD LED TV brands nit just Sony and TCL.

Got an A90J and the VRR made it even more amazing than it already was. C1 is cool but can't compete with the brightness of the A90J.

Lol no mention of Vizio P series which has VRR implementation up to 120fps at 4K and no reduction in local dimming

Only Sony LCDs are having the local dimming issue. Not the Sony OLEDs.

I have the xh90 or 900h for Americans still disables local dimming but much smoother gameplay imo so hit and miss

I have Sony X90h when VRR enabled the picture quality is very bad and the local dimming is disabled just smoother everything else is bad
I don't recommend VRR with Sony LCD TVs at all get OLED or Samsung if VRR is important for you

My Samsung q80t from 2020 is perfect and works flawless so not sure why you recommend 2021 onwards...

Ive heard tcl 546 and 646 are good as well as vizio p series

You actually have it backwards. The display syncs to the game's frame rate, not the other way around.

Grind cod vanguard, i know its not the best with all the onscreen chaos, but I find myself turning VRR on and off on my ps5. Its very finicky I realize. My game ran smooth before vrr now its all over the place. Using Hisense u8g

Great video. The slightly annoying thing is that when I have VRR set to automatic in the PS5 settings, And there's a patch for the game that supports VRR, It'll turn my game mode off and on by itself multiple times once I start the game and again once I close the game. I have a Q80T QLED Samsung so its just little weird. Its a slight downside compared to XSX of the LFC being 48-60hz instead of 40hz. Dont know why. Cause there can be games that dip below 48. And a LFC 40hz+ would benefit from that. Slight difference between those 2 tho.

However it all depends how VRR is implemented by the devs and the game it is. That's what matters. And it'll be in perfect use. The way how insomniac did it in miles and ratchet with the Fidelity mode and the 120fps RT performance mode was phenomenal. Every game developers should do it like that!

I've got the hisense 65" U88G (The Canadian version of the U8G), and it's brilliant with the VRR.

Ps5 sucks, i prefer xsx alot more.

Given VRR helps when games have an unstable frame rate, I don't think it is necessary to support last gen games given most of them run at a stable frame rate in backwards compatibility mode on PS5.
