I have absolutely loved Trace Adkins for many, many years—since he first appeared on the music scene. Most of his songs have touched me deeply. By the same token, there are a few of them that actually break my heart because of the way they objectify women. It’s always boggles my mind how a father of many daughters could participate in such demeaning representations of women. I just don’t get it. Trace is able to move emotional mountains with his music and touch lives in ways that very few can. I just don’t understand how splashing in such degrading mud helps that in anyway— regardless of how it attempts to pay tribute. My dear Mr. Adkins, please stick with what you’re really good at leave the rest to the more shallow artists who really don’t care about who they hurt. You’re so much better than that.
