ОтветитьI just had a gentleman at a market telling me that daikon makes great kimchi. I like to slice it very thin and salted wells and put it on a highly buttered toasted club roll. Absolutely fantastic. I know it sounds weird but it's not.

ОтветитьI LOVE daikon. It was one of the first Chinese ingredients I experimented with. This dish seems simple and looked delicious; I'll have to try it. My favorite recipe with daikon is a stew of oxtails with daikon; the main spice is star anise and it's garnished with coriander. The cooked daikon always comes out so sweet and tasty in that dish, so I can imagine that this recipe might also really highlight it.

ОтветитьI have a question about the Soybean paste you use in this video. Is it a good one to make zhan jiang mian? I found tian mian but I couldn't find the dry soy paste usually used to make the sauce and I got the YES! brand.

I don't have the beanpaste but do have Korean Doenjang. Can I substitute it or does that taste entirely different? I'm still new to Asian cooking, so I have no idea 😅
