Ответитьwedge salad is the worst invention in mankind
ОтветитьI just want a homemade dressing episode from you... ranch, thousand island, blue cheese, all the classics. Would be awesome.
ОтветитьI must complement Babish for sticking to the original recipe for Caesar salad. The panzanella looks nice, and the wedge salad looks; I'm going to be honest, bacon on a salad ruins a salad for me and sound gross, I just can't. Other than that little bit, a very fine episode indeed.
ОтветитьTechnically there was anchovies in the original Caesar salad dressing. Worcestershire sauce is one of the main ingredients and that is made from fermented anchovies.
Ответитьfun fact: there is anchovy in worcestershire sauce
Ответить🥜🥜🥜🥜🥪🥪🥪🥪🥪🍇🍇🍇
ОтветитьWhat's with the audio quality on this one? Sounds like you recorded the voiceover with your phone an inch from your face
ОтветитьI suppose the panzanella you did is a restaurant fancy version, but it is far, far different from the one we do at home in Italy, which is mostly used to reuse stale bread

Ответить"...As the salad moved North to the U.S, a key ingredient changed within the recipe. Lemon juice is commonly used, despite the original Caesar salad opting for lime. It is thought the confusion came from the Spanish word for 'lime' being 'limón', which sounds similar."

ОтветитьFYI for anyone curious who doesn't know: there are anchovies in worcestershire sauce, that's why people think it's supposed to have anchovies in it. Just use the worcestershire sauce instead, it's better.

ОтветитьAndrew after saying the phrase "Tossing Salad"
"Don't laugh, it's going to be said a lot in this episode"
Also Andrew: Once you're done tossing your salad, it's time to get dressed.
Regarding the origins of Caesar Salad: It has been reinvented many times by many chefs, but they all follow the same basic formula because they have a common origin: "Caesar Salad" was originally an epithet for Roman soldiers' rations while on campaign. They got bread, oil, and hard cheese as their daily rations, and if they were still hungry they ate grass or wild vegetables like chard. Modern versions use lettuce.
ОтветитьI tried the home made sauce and I don’t want to go back to bottled

ОтветитьIf you were following the recipes in this video, you just boiled an egg for no reason
ОтветитьI eat keto and these are by far the best salad dressings I’ve tried so far! For the buttermilk blue cheese, I use the same recipe to make ranch, just swap out the blue cheese for dill and parsley. Definitely never buying another store bought dressing again!
