You guys don't need to worry about the Romulan content. I think this works as a great summary of a Romulan facet we don't get to see very often - Romulan duplicity in friendship. They might be your allies, they might temporarily be cordial, but if you challenge them they'll revert to type.
They didn't even think to ASK the Bajorans, and then act all hurt feelings when they get called on it. I get the feeling if Admiral Ross hadn't have intervened, the Romulans would have been stuck in a quandary of what to do. They wouldn't have wanted to attack and ruin the alliance themselves, but they couldn't have backed down.

The oil company/the state of justice for Native Americans is a much more compelling villain in Longmire.

Alien biology, Desert planets, a frodoesque quest. An exploding star! This episode has everything you could want in an episode. Gaes of Thrones meets Star Trek at its best.
