So satisfying to watch! Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьThat is a pretty cool pouch, but I still think I like the van. Quest husky quite a bit better and it’s a really good price. You may want to take a look at that.
ОтветитьI like to sketch out each panel and pocket and create a plan for my pouches of this nature. Then, I place like items together - consolidate so I know what each panel and picket holds and how much. I like to carry two large pouches and a butt pack. The butt pack is for shelter and sleep accoutrements. One pouch is dedicated to fire making and first aid and the second pouch is dedicated to water supplies, fishing, ammo and signaling. Or, I have completely supplied fishing vests with a great multitude of pockets and it is consolidated with fishing, hunting and lighting on one side, shelter on the backside and fire and signaling on the right side. Another good thing to do is to hike with a hand fashioned crutch and one leg in a sling. This practice is very good for all who need to escape to the woods. Alternate legs in slings. It will build strength in both legs and help you overcome hiking obstacles. Broken legs and snake bites can be real problems for you and your partner, who has to help you. Getting to a clearing and signaling air traffic for help is highly important, whether alone or with a partner. A single signal panel does not work, you must have three of them or three spaced apart fires or three rows of anything. Fires just get their attention. As a plane flies over it will tilt it's wings several times to acknowledge signal or message recieved. If the plane does not acknowledge, it may be flying under the radar because of illegal flight or cargo. Your countdown to help begins at acknowledgement. Always search for a clearing large enough for a chopper to comfortably land then set up your signals. Anything smaller may create delay in help getting there although it will get there. The bigger the clearing, the better and remember the rule of threes. Three blasts with a whistle, three visible signals etc. The signal mirror should hit the plane or chopper three times only then if after a pause three more times. If the craft circles and comes back, repeat and watch for the tilts, he my be tilting in his return. There is more that can be said, especially at coast and sea but a good book should give lots of solid information on the rule of three. To me the perfect place is a large field by a river or stream. With a snake bite, always just take it easy and don't ever get excited or angered, be calm. Do not move fast to find the clearing or in setting your signals. Hopefully, you won't get the full brunt of any poison, which you will if you move fast or let tension build up in your mind. This is the advice that seems to me is the most sensible one, however, some use tourniquets in which I would learn usage of tourniquets in a proper course, if in fact that even works. The medical community doesn't seem to be able to come up with any decent answers and will always debate the issue. Venom sucking by mouth or device is even condemned by that community. The best advice is to go to your regular doctor and find out what he recommends especially in view of what he knows about your body and it's organs. Follow his advice ! If possible bring the dead snake with you or an accurate description so the can match up antivenin. There are a number of snakes that are not pit vipers that have toxic bites that are just as destructive and nearly as deadly. Study up on them. To learn the dangers of the wilds can help you access how to recover and survive abilities. This is how you conquer the wilds. Know your enemy and how to make him your friend !
ОтветитьCool concept traveling junk draw
ОтветитьOkay so here is the deal. This is a really great Co. I just went to their web site a few days ago, and ordered a black empty Mac-Gyver bag. When I recievet it it was to my suprise a complete full bag with all of the contents, and then some. They really went out of their way to meet the coustomer needs. Now I did really want the full bag, but I could not afford it so I ordered the plane empty black bag. Wow Thank you so much ACW Tactical.
ОтветитьLooks like if you can find a small MOLLIE compatible pouch for your Petzel light, I'd have it on the outside. And or a small "Sub pouch" with some of the more critical medical items that you might need to get to in a hurry. Either way putting the First Aid or the Petzel outside would free up the room not to blow the zipper.
The AMK "Heat sheet" is the only thin emergency blanket i will put in my emergency kits, save the Casualty of the first aid kit, the casualties will hopefully get evacuated and thus let them throw away the cheapy at the hospital, not the "thoroughbred pony", that said I chose AMK for if it gets a slight nick the whole thing doesn't tear in two because you looked at it. And a simple piece of scotch tape can fix a punched hole.
You sound like me.
ОтветитьIn the two little pouches not yet filled.... put a couple pieces of heat-resistant gum/candy. In an emergency situation, it sure tastes great and helps with hunger. Just a thought.
ОтветитьAwesome pouch great bunchbof gear to go in it as well .
ОтветитьOmg this video is killing me. Can’t make it through this. 8 minutes of actual content and 30 minutes of looking for and rifling through your completely unorganized (aka unprepared) ‘organizers’. Plus you sound like you just pulled an all nighter. Might want to relabel your channel.
ОтветитьGreat guys over at ACW Tactical ! I have the premade version for several years now and its definitely got ALOT of items in it. I have used it several times already. Its definitely one of the better premade kits out there IMO. Their SAT pouches are great additions to the kit as well.
ОтветитьI love ACW products!!! I have that same pouch in black.
ОтветитьLooks a lot like the condor medical pouch
ОтветитьCan you suggest a Survival Kit already assembled?
ОтветитьThere is no such thing as too much stuff. Says the man with a narrow path through his room full of stuff. Actually, you're doing better than I am. Mine is just in piles. No totes, just toppling piles.
REMEMBER, two is one, one is none. Take the extra compass and some bank line.
Could add some heavy duty aluminum foil to it.
ОтветитьI have one of those for a first aid kit. It can be removed from my pack for quick deployment.
ОтветитьWhere can I get those whirl bags? I have a tub of gear in a tub also, just not organized like yours, that’s a really nice bag for a survival kit. I love to make my own survival kit. You have some good gear. I kept collecting and collecting stuff, I’ll never stop. It’s like a disease. Alan R.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know if you buy a First Aid kit if it would be FSA eligible? Might be a good way to get quality with left over FSA funds.
ОтветитьOutstanding sir
ОтветитьNice video and great kit build!!! That was fun!!! Now I am going to dive into my gear I have accumulated over time and see if I can build something similar! I hear you on gathering stuff over time, like getting subscription boxes and always needing to seek as how to store the stuff!!!! Thanks for sharing! Love these type of videos! Btw, you look great! Have you lost some weight? If so, good for you! Stay on that course! Take care!
ОтветитьGreat gear and set up. Looked this kit up and your right its actually quality gear unlike most. It would be worth the price but like you i have a lot of "junk" sitting around
ОтветитьACW makes some great stuff. I've got 2 of their MacGyver bags and 2 of the satellite pouches. Great company and friendly staff. They take care of you.
ОтветитьGood stuff, thanks
ОтветитьThanks for filming
ОтветитьWoW,well I love the name,it's funny we've all said before,so now we have a Mac Gyver bag,no sh!t....I hope it's worth it,I'm in on this one,I just had someone break in my truck and stole some really great gear, but he was arrested yesterday,I have a ring on my porch and it recorded everything including the phone call he was on outside talking about selling my 9 mm,but it wasn't in the truck I brought it in to reload it,because I pulled it out on the Ohio river and blasted 3 giant river rats they are the size of cats here 30 miles south of Cincinnati Ohio,,,anyway my bags were not recovered so I need new ones, insurance is paying for them...isn't that great....
ОтветитьJust organized all my ‘stuff’ the same way three days ago! Felt kinda nerdy, so it’s good to see others doing the same 😅
ОтветитьLooks like you lost weight dude. Nice job.
ОтветитьYou had me at “Building survival kit! “ liked and commented before 30 seconds thanks Wendell you’re looking great btw
ОтветитьGood kit, love that pouch!
