O'Donnels only emerged as ruling family during 13th century. O'Cannons, to which Letterkenny gets its name, was the ruling family for over 3OO years before them, and they aren't even mentioned in the video!

Great video! And yep, I can agree that it is VERY annoying when Donegal Irish (we sometimes call it Donegalese because it sounds so different) is used in an Irish listening comprehension!

I love Donegal

Donegal is one of my favourite counties and is one I'd certainly recommend you visit if you get the chance. Don't let it be the forgotten county.
