I clicked a reform to soon and got religious peace and Pope got upset and left the empire preventing me from getting a mission peacefully.

Imagine being king of 4-6 countries dealing with nobility of each country would be very anoying, I think eu4 needs mechanic that makes hard to keep that many countries under PU.

one issue i always seem to have as austria is imperial authority - where do you get gains from it aside from passive ?

I nearly replicated your game and have 3 reforms done at 1458, but now if i declare on either france or the Ottomans to release future targets, they intervene on behalf of each other.. What to do, what to do? Separate peace one to have a lower trucetimer that the other can not join in the next war?

I am doing an Austria run and I am pretty much at 1500 with bunch of PUs and rocking Europe, but which ideas group would you take after diplo? I was thinking either humanist or religious to limit the reformation or economics because it’s just good?

a continuation of this campaign that focuses on how to one faith in general would be nice. There is a lot of guides for early game but not so much on how to get all the stuff done past 1600.

Tbh, my Austria campaign where I accidentally got a pu on France was almost as hard because I don't know how to play this game.

I'm actually playing Austria and Milan and Burgundy both had an heir I was so pissed, but Milan event happened I crushed them and their ally burgandy and Charles dies and I got both unions lmao.
