Why do people hate the EU4 Leviathan DLC?

16-5-2022: THEY STILL HAVEN'T PATCHED THE GAMEBREAKING BULLCRAP WHERE A NATIVE ALLIANCE GROUP CAN JUST STEAMROLL A COLONIAL VASSAL RIGHT AFTER BEING ESTABLIST OR RIGHT AFTER YOU CLAPPED THEM WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO HELP IN ANY WAY TO PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING. CREATING A FUCKING FRUSTRATING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN YOU NEEDING TO ENDLESSLY FIGHT TO HELP YOUR PATHETIC LITTLE COLONIAL VASSAL FROM NOT ISTANTLY BEING GOBBLED UP BY FIGHTING WARS TO KEEP THEM LARGE. Sorry for tha all caps I'm jsut really annoyed at this bullshit.

I somehow got lucky cause. I downloaded it for free. With many other dlc's and no bugs

March 11th was the last time I've played EU4, and I haven't had any desire to come back to the game given how absolutely horrid the concentrate development and pillage capital mechanics seem

In my opinion, paradox can make many mistakes before any lasting negative impact really happens, so long as they fix them quickly, mainly because paradox is the only company that caters to such its specific demographic. Like yeah, there are other companies that make strategy games but paradox strategy games themselves have a sort of unique feeling that games like civilization and total war don't give. So as long as paradox has no immediate competition they probably will not have to worry too much about mistakes.

Vicy 3 will be the same "fun" to play on release, trust me. The more people hype it, the more Pdx is forced to release it ASAP, unfinished & untested.

what really sucks is it's their trend.. CK3 was unplayable when released and it has been trash for many months, empire of sin to this day still sucks and makes no sense, and with Vic3 coming up i cant expect much than it being another mess for the first year. I tend to think they do this on purpose to advertise stuff for a longer time

As a casual player I didn't get into the game because of the number of DLCs. Most have features that should have been part of the base game too.

I just got eu4 on sale, specifically only to play the fallout mod. I can only use 1.30 tho, And that's the way I'm keeping it haha.

When you're hot, you're hot, and when you're not, you're not. Imperator never overcame it's bad start, despite becoming a good game near the end. While games like EU4 and HOI4 are coasting on a good reputation, you never know when that good will will be used up.

I will probably stay loyal for now, since I like the games in general, but its getting annoying.
Not just the issues at release of new games and DLCs, also the having to re-learn the games with every DLC and some even getting changes that change out features introduced by previous DLCs. I preferred the times of EU III, where I could play a complete game and then decide if I wanted the expansion and change the way I play.

I don't even care about the bugs, I hate every single thing about this dlc

paradox are way too predatory now with the DLC bullshit tbh .. after the stellaris rework .. wich basically turned it into a trash game .. i stop buying there shite

And don't forget that the release of 1.30.5 had a lot of similar problems, also corrupting many save game files. Because of this I am especially surprised Paradox were so lax in releasing this DLC and repeating many of the mistakes made previously. Especially after the profuse apologies made by Paradox after 1.30.5, these DLC woes feel like a slap in the face.
