Fallout 4 Keeps Crashing - This Is How To Fix It - A Quick Fix

All right I need some help here every time when I try to do the Nick valentine quest and even get close to the subway entrance the game just crashes but when I do eventually get to there and going to a loading screen to enter it crashes can someone elaborate why that’s happening I’ve done to turn off Internet and back in trick that failed and just to clarify I’m doing this on Xbox

Only Scraping in Sanctuary causes my game to crash STILL

so everytime I end up in the general area of Easy City Downs, at night, with a companion, the game soft locks, it doesn't crash and send me to my desktop, it just stops moving... indefinitely

I have tested my idea that a companion add more information plus the radio. No companion or radio and my game stopped freezing. Try it. Especially if you have the lone wander perk definitely don’t take a companion including dog meat. 🎉

I was sitting here,saving for nearly 5 minutes about to explode with anger cuz of how many times I was rebuilding the same shit over and over,right as I pulled this up it saver love it. You'd think series X would be superior for modding since the cap Is still 2gbs but no,then again yes at the same time. Except I now have a crash spot in the begging of far harbor. Idk why crash spot exists but I've noticed certain playthroughs may have an area you'll always crash in

Why does this actually work

Mine is crashing at the main menu, I can't access my mods as it crashes straight away. I have tried hard resetting xbox series x, then deleting reserved space, I have uninstalled the game twice, tried going offline and its still doing it. So annoying

Realized I can’t even do certain missions without he game just closing randomly , had a mod in the wrong spot in the order , still didn’t do shit lol , then I updated my game drivers and that did nothing , I just remember what locations make the game crash and I avoid them , it sucks tho🤦🏽‍♂️

Boston is a no go unless you can fast travel Honestly. been trying to finish a survival run form over a year now and only reason i haven't is entirely because of crashing. Play it for as long as you can. crash. rage. repeat. It's such an agonizing cycle, but oh well 🤷

Imagine saying “fuck it let’s ship it” after barely playtesting the game. There quite literally is no game with as many frequent crashes. Hell cyberpunk got more playtesting on last gen consoles than fallout 4 did 😂

IMPORTANT TIP: While you have your game offline like he says,make sure you do NOT have any mods that change the FPS cap at all. There is a difference between Performance mods and FPS uncap mods. For example,this is what is a change in Ps5 from Ps4,hence why Ps5 crashes a lot less. I know this seems weird,but lower FPS is much better then higher,and the uncap mods are destroying your game. Remember what Fortnite and Rocket League does when it has high FPS,it lags and rarely crashes. Now take a unstable modded game and you have chaos. I went from not being able to leave Vault 111,to killing Kellogg,with only 2 crashes. Btw that’s 1/3 of the main storyline. I want people to know about these game breaking mods so pls like this.

I like how an add on you pay for causes your game to crash even WITHOUT mods it’s so frustrating, and also I’m on console and you can literally tell if your game is going to crash with creation club content because after you talk to codsworth in the beginning of the game when he tells you to go to concord he will then go over and hover in this one spot and won’t move until you complete the concord mission like 😅 this is so annoying I’m just trying to get some f**** achievements bruv but the game crashes either every 3 hours or crashes when I enter downtown boston and stay there for more than 15 minutes

Boston crashes my game so much. I went about 6 hours without crashing, but as soon as I went in I shit you not it crashed 5 times in 10 minutes

I play with mods, and I’ve NEVER had this issue on Xbox One. It was only when I switched over to Xbox series s and I downloaded my old load order that I experienced such crashes. Usually, it’s only when I’m in sanctuary or in combat?? I don’t get it. It’s a very frustrating experience.

I know mr Howard is getting ready to release star field so he might be a little busy but please. PLEASE. can he just have him and his cult of wizards whip up a patch for this game so it stops crashing every 20 minutes

Hopefully this will allow me to load my fucking game for once. In a frustrated fit I deleted all my save files, and started from scratch in an attempt to fix it. I like to play survival and the moment I reach a bed to save a good chunk of the game it crashed and now none of the saves will load. Again! Please Howard! Take your mod collection away. It hurts me.

If you uninstall, reinstall it will reset all your creation club shit and it will all be disabled and deleted unless you go into the creation club and reinstall all of your things. Even with this trick fallout 4 will not cease to stop crashing. Fallout 4 is an open world game made by Bethesda, which means: $10,000 setup or not, this game will continue to crash every 10 minutes and there is nothing you can do about it.

Most of the time when I'm trying to reach a destination or companion my game will crash 2 ft before I can reach a door.
