If people from other countries commit crimes in our country, we try them according to our laws and we put them in prison according to our laws, too. Yes, the conditions in some countries's prisons are reprehensible, but it's quite normal that you're going to be brought to justice in the country you're committing the crime in.

I read a UK ladies story recently. After 5years she was offered to go do her time in UK. When she got here cause of her sentence she was put in with the worst. Serial and torture killers. She realised she was way better off in Thailand. Friendly people and your pretty free in the prison. UK was mentally way worse. UK belly of the beast. Might look nice but soul destroying I hate it here.

Stay away from drugs in Thailand. It is the dumbest thing you can do to get involved in drugs and befriending dealers. Not surprised one bit his "friend" set him up.

As part Thai and been living here for 26 years, just stay away from the "dark areas", Bangkok Hilton is a place you definitely won't enjoy especially if you don't have the money. So many beautiful places to see and fun activities to do legally! Don't try fighting the locals too and try to resolve conflicts with a cool head. Thais are kind and helpful people generally, just don't make them lose face in their own land or you'll see a side you wish you didn't bring out.

Thai have no sympathy for westerner who get caught for drugs for two main reasons, most thais are very decent, respectable people, it’s only the tourist area that are mostly undignified and this is caused by westerners the other reason is they see a person born in a first world country spoilt because life is so good in comparison and yet they take drugs, and that is a reasonable consideration for the most part.

If youre planning on moving to thailand to become a meth addict/dealer, just dont.

I knew someone who got driven by an extremely drunk driver on a moped, they crashed Into a woman and child, both of them knocked out, luckily the woman and child weren't badly hurt, woke up and he was in prison getting charged with the drunk driving and hitting someone, he said that he rotted in prison where inmates died of disease, neglect and starvation for 6 months before his appeal to get them to check the cctv to prove that it was not him that was driving, apparently the police who "witnessed" it don't lie so they never thought to listen to his side
