i remember this Mitsubishi lancer from the 80 it was reliable as toyoto Corolla very good well built cars built to last for long time
ОтветитьI have a 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer. My previous car was also a Lancer (2005). While the 2013 one has some fit and finish issues, both cars are reliable and never gave me a headache.
ОтветитьInteresting.
ОтветитьI currently own a Mitsubishi Galant from 2002 (see profile picture). Absolutely love the car! Don't really care about Mitsubishi though. They made heartless cars after 2004. This video explains why.
ОтветитьMy first NEW car was a Plymouth (Mitsubishi) Arrow. I sold it to my brother when I went over seas and bought it back from him when I returned. I loved that car.
ОтветитьWe have a 2017 Mirage that is now my daughter's car. 57K miles and utterly reliable. Zero issues, great fuel economy, and surprisingly spacious. An honest car without pretentions.
ОтветитьTheir sports car failed but not the entire car division because they're still selling suvs & trucks like hotcakes though I personally would avoid mitsubishi, they're not reliable as they seem.
ОтветитьIt is NOT Chrysler (kryz-ler) but (krys-ler)
ОтветитьAs a Mitsubishi fan boy , I have owned a few and they are my favourite Japanese brand
It is so sad for me to see them in this position now from what they were 😢😢
Mitsubishi's partnership with Smart on Mitsubishi Colt 5d, CZT and CZC was one great success as far as the sales.
In addition to this, a video about the rise and the fall of hard roof cabriolets of the 2000 might be really interesting!
Keep up you marvellous work! Greetings from Athens 🇬🇷
Diamante: 🤡🤣🤢💤💤
Magna : 🔥🔥💯💯🙏🙏
The Eclipse was always a 2+2, not a 2 seater.
ОтветитьMy first car was a Mitsubishi Carisma 1.6. I always dreamed I would turn it into a Lancer, but it was the closest I'd be able to get to start with. The fact Richard Burns rallied a Carisma made me feel a bit better though 😆
ОтветитьI've really enjoyed your videos so far. You have a relaxed pace of delivery and are very easy to understand, unlike many who seem to be late for a golf game... Very informative and interesting content too. I hope you continue to grow your channel. Subbed.
ОтветитьA video about Mitsubishi and not mentioning the Outlander PHEV which was a huge success and the first mass produced and successful Plug-In-Hybrid-EV does not have a fair description about the company. It took almost 10 years for the competition to come up with completing alternatives to that type of drivetrain. In that example Mitsubishi leads, when the competition plays catch-up.
ОтветитьThe "Colt Galant GTO" DID make it to the USA in a different form rebadged as the "Plymouth Arrow" (the hatchback, not the pickup). I owned a 1978 model years ago until a little old lady pulled out in front of me, totalling it.
ОтветитьMitsubishi didn't fail. My Costa Rican Mother in law just bought one new!
ОтветитьA friend of mine had an early-2000s Galant, and it would fall apart. At one point, he opened the front passenger door, and the side mirror just fell off. When I looked at how it was attached, either it was one of the cheapest methods I've ever seen, or there was supposed to be epoxy and wasn't. And things broke off in the interior regularly. The car was only 2 years old.
ОтветитьI’ve had a Mitsubishi Endeavor for almost 5 years now. I drove 500 miles weekly for about 5 months in it while I was in school in order to visit my sick dad. I usually had it loaded to the gills with camping equipment, furniture, etc. I ran that car through hell and back. And it never ONCE broke down. 3 years later and I still have the same Endeavor. At nearly 200k miles it still runs like a dream. Outside of regular maintenance I’ve had to replace a few minor parts but it still does everything I ask it to do. When it finally does go I’ll be incredibly sad. I would have bought another similar newer Mitsubishi in a heartbeat… but with their track record as of late… well, better stick to a Toyota.
Ответитьthe Evo was a legend and still
ОтветитьThe only Mitsubishi I ever owned was a 2001 Diamante LS -- it was beautiful and ran and drove wonderfully -- but it had a fatal design flaw -- the heater core had a bad O-ring which caused every single one of them to fail around 80k miles.
ОтветитьAbsolutely LOVED driving the GTO twin turbo, it truly was like nothing else, felt like a spaceship!
ОтветитьThey always end up smoking worse than a grandma in a trailer park
ОтветитьYour videos are great but just so you know The car company Willys Overland is pronounced WILL-IS not WILL-EES Overland.
ОтветитьMy father was a big Mitsubishi fan.
He was driving to work everyday in difficult terrain.
He partially climbing a mountain EVERY work day as his daily commute.
He was extremely happy with the 80's Mitsubishi. We had 3 Lancer, all sold after 300'000km. My mother drove a Colt, that I drove after that, and I sold it around 370'000km.
But in the 2000's Mitsubishi had issues and problems. And I happend to fall victim to one of their lemon.
I also warned my boss at the time, that wanted to reknew his fleet of Mitsubishi Pajero's. But he didn't listened. 3 of the 4 cars he bought, where lemons, and we lost a lot of money because of those faulty cars.
I know since them, Mitsubishi would be over someday. And it's a good thing.
This is the first human, emotional, realistic documentary on Mitsubishi, good work....boohoohoooghooo
ОтветитьThey failed because they focused on playing silly child games with the Subaru WRX which is one of the wankiest cars ever made, second only to the stupid little fart can Evo thing. Nobody wants a 4 cylinder 4 door tarted up grocery getter. Give us our 3000GT.
Ответитьi have the galant 2500ccm V6 it was a wonderfull car!
ОтветитьIt's a travesty that this fantastic manufacturer has disappeared in the UK completely. I'm a proud owner of an imported Mitsubishi FTO GPX from 2001 and I will not get rid of it and hold on to it as long as I can as it properly and will always be my favourite car. The main problem with Mitsubishi I think was marketing. They had great products on the sport side. Great coupe's rally but just didn't market them across the world properly, I went from being an exciting manufacturer to stop making. The Evo was a huge mistake and only selling boring SUVs which as we know had Nissan underpins they should have teamed up with someone like Honda or Toyota, Mazda not Nissan. Mitsubishi engineers were renowned for their innovation. That's why the FTO I have now was so advanced. It puts even some of the new cars to shame with its reliability and clever tech. It's unbelievable to think they have an industrial backing making ships and aeroplanes, but they couldn't successively continue the cars??
ОтветитьThe Pajero, Lancer EVO, and 3000 GT are legends, and only Mitsubishi can bring them back.
ОтветитьIt's sad that a inferior quality car manufacturer like Renault/ Nissan takes over a great quality car manufacturer and lowers the standard to their level 😢
ОтветитьMitsubishi All the Way!
ОтветитьMy 1998 Diamante was terrific. Put over a 100k miles on it without any problems, very comfortable car.
Then we had a 2007 Outlander, nearly 110k troublefree miles.
Mitsubishi made nice looking cars, but they were generally the worst reliable company brand. Mirages have always been crappy, Eclipses were great looking, but trash. I had a Dodge Stealth (basically a 3000GT) and wished I had a Toyota MR2/Supra.
Toyota has always dominated due to pure reliability and Lexus was a homerun. Honda was generally close with some sacrifice in reliability in exchange for newer tech. Nissan was hit or miss for reliability and so had to focus on sportiness with the Z lines and Skyline/GTR lines. Mitsubishi really only had the Lancer Evolution and even that really isn't THAT desirable.
Mitsubishi Pajero.... jajajajaja
ОтветитьAlot of manufacturers who had good looking and functional cars fell off when everyone was trying to the modern looks instead of keeping to what keep them what they were
ОтветитьIn 1993 I bought my first (and only) new car, the Lancer coupe, it was a great car. I kept it for over 20 years before upgrading to a 2009 Lancer sedan, which I still have. I just got a 2013 Pajero and don't see selling either any time soon. Its a shame that today here in Australia Mitsubishi basically sell SUVs and utes, no sports cars and the last sedan was the Mirage, which used to be a great small car. I miss the days of the EVO and Rally cars.
ОтветитьIs it weird to call Mitsubishi "The Konami of the auto industry"?
Ответитьthey once made damn good fighter aircraft during ww2 . the A6M zero
ОтветитьTheir a victim of Toyotas success. Not even Nissan could keep with them .Its hard to believe nissan was the 4th largest just behind the big Amercan 3 .
Nissan and Mitsubishi lost out not developing Hybrids or variable timing engines .Because of ther lack of sales success they failed to develpe technology and lost their independance.
Still take my 3000gt vr4 to 160 when I'm feeling spunky. Had it since 95 and have only had to go through the awd components and never let it sit out in the rain. Still an amazing car.
ОтветитьVery interesting information, thanks!
Ответитьthey became boring
ОтветитьI'm in the US, and Mitsubishi in the last several years has just been looking too bland. They seem to keep releasing the same cars year after year. I'm surprised they're still hanging on by a thread
ОтветитьThey made great cars in the 90s,,they just didn't plan well
ОтветитьMitsubishi has always impressed me with their innovation, and it's a shame to see where they are today. Their Super Select 4WD (ActivTrak 4WD in some markets) was particularly impressive to me, being able to switch between 2WD and 4WD at speeds up to 100 km/h (62 MPH).
I still own a Pajero that I drove off the showroom floor 24 years ago in 1999. It's now got 525,000 original kilometers (328,000 miles) on it, and while the engine was rebuilt at the 500,000 km (312,500 mi) mark, with the exception of the suspension/brakes, U joints, driver's exterior door handle, window regulator and some bulbs, the rest of the vehicle is all original right down to the fuel pump.
I had 98 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS. Loved it. Sadly the car had lot of rust and i sold it after 7 years of driving it.
ОтветитьMy father had a Mitsubishi Starion . Amazing car and outstanding performance and advanced for its time
Ответить
