it was so long ago yes I still cannot see Urshifu as a legendary, neither can I with paradox pokemons, their design and presence is so close to normal high value pokemons that I honestly forgot they are considered legendary

I’ve been into competitive drafting for a long time now, but never tried out the actual ranked ladder or vgc stuff. I’m going to get into it in this new regulation and i’m hype! I’m trying to study as much as possible and making a few teams on showdown before I actually train them up in game. I’m hoping to create some interesting things that counter the already set in stone mons, but I don’t mind using meta mons either. I’m hoping I can do well and maybe even try out some tournaments in the 2025 season!

Honestly I'm really excited to see how this all plays out. I don't play competitive and I still don't think I will after this but I really hope to see a lot of more cool and creative teams that are a lot more diverse in their team compositions and game plans!

The best Pokémon format is double restricted. Formats with no restricteds have way to many viable Pokémon and that total lack of polarisation makes a frustrating competitive environment. One restricted Pokémon is the worst format because some restricted Pokémon are just better than the rest of them. The opportunity cost of not using them is too high, and so it creates a boring super polarised meta. Double restricted is the perfect in-between. The opportunity cost for not using the best restricted mons is lower because you have two, and the fact that you have two opens up ways to counter the top restricteds that were not open with just one. The presence of restricteds still polarises everything else, but the presence of two stops them from polarising each other anywhere near as badly.

😢This just proves that the pokemon company is slowly taking their time for gen 10 and I'm all for it

Finally my favorite pokemon has a legit niche. Chandelure has the single highest special attack of any pokemon in reg H. It's still not *amazing*, on account of it's mediocre speed and bulk. But with enough support i think it can be viable as a cleanup sweeper.

I still hope Kommo-o/Sinistcha team gonna do well

When I saw the thumbnail, I thought there was finally an unshifu nerf.

I also think that tera types are great for the new regulation of mons where it can sometimes be used to allow something that otherwise may have too much of a weakness in some form to be viable. With the paradox mons and the past regulation it felt like instead of making something viable it made something that was already viable that much more annoying. It also kind of contributed to an even more well defined stagnent meta. I absolutely love the idea of tera especially in comparison to dynamax but it just felt a bit stale in the last regulation.

Correction for the Sylveon tailwind example: tailwind doubles the raw stat not the base stat. So Sylveon with max speed timid would have an effective speed stat of 246, which is the same as a Regieleki with 28 speed evs and a neutral nature (effectively it gives sylveon a base speed stat of 204) Just a small editing correction.
