David Gilmour and Rick Wright were the musical genius behind Pink Floyd and Nick Mason is HIGHLY underrated drummer! Water's was mediocre bassist at best and Gilmour either taught him how to play it ir played it himself! Waters wrote some words!

Ok, looks like Waters was not Mr. Nice Guy.
But Waters was the man who hold the project together.
A band is not only about music - there is a lot of Organisation stuff to do and Waters pushed it. He was the Alpha.
And the other band-members felt pushed by him.
No one to blame here.

Roger is 80 yrs old. David is 77 yrs old. I would think they are thinking of retirement, not touring. Sorry, but come to grips with life. They are never getting back together.

All albums after Waters left suck. Also Waters is mind behind Pink Floyd, he is bad musician, while David is great musician, one of best ever. David does not like Rogers activism and politics, he and his wifr love money.

Insulting people who don't have the same opinion as you is straight from the cancel culture/ twitter playbook and it's childish to think that a conflict have a good and bad side, as it's more nuanced than that.

I’m a childhood friend of David and Syd
And knew Roger briefly
It is believed that Roger is responsible for Syd’s untimely demise into madness.
Sparked on by Rogers emphatic feeding of the cause.
One day hopefully this truth will be known,
But I’m just an old man at the end of my life and I’ll take what I know with me.
As for the guys in that band they made some amazing music.
Just sad that it all fell apart.

Amazing band one of my favorites, but at this point these guys are coming up on 80 years old and holding our breath for them to get together again and tour or put it out. Another album is pretty much a waste of energy.

As a commercial brand, Pink Floyd is Gilmore, Waters, Wright and Mason. Pink Floyd ceased being art when Syd Barrett took creativity with him.

I don't care about the business/emotional/politico aftermath of Pink Floyd. There's enough blame to go around for all of them.
Was Waters a bit of a bully, control-freak, wanting everything perfect, ...,?, I dunno' but what great musician doesn't, and so what, did we not all like all the Pink Floyd albums from "The Wall" back ? ...-so there ya go.

To me, Waters and Gilmour remind me a bit of Lennon(Waters) and McCartney(Gilmour), with only some similarities, respectively, no ego's allowed. ;)
Both are accomplished musicians, inputing/creating melodies, harmonies, ..., but technically, (instrument-playing-wise) McCartney(Gilmour) was a bit better than Lennon(Waters).
However, Lyrically/Story/Theme/Writing-wise, Lennon(Waters) was far more gifted than McCartney(Gilmour).

But that said, those similarities begin to diverse, group-wise:
-From the "Pipers, ...,", and even before, ..., to "The Final Cut", it was mostly Roger Waters lyrically/sound-wise, and with Gilmour, (and Wright and Mason), technically providing the sound/gutar-work and musicianship that Waters wanted.
-From the "Please Please Me", and even before, ..., to "Let It Be", it was (more than not) shared with Lennon lyrically/sound-wise, and McCartney lyrically/sound-wise, and Harrison lyrically/sound-wise and Starr.
-Without Lennon there would've been NO Beatles, (well ya, that's a given), but there was a Band on the Run, -sry, bad joke.
-Without Waters there would've been NO Pink Floyd, and yet thankfully, there was. :)
However, without Gilmour would Waters have found that comradery/musical guitar work and sound to his lyrics, (before and after Syd Barrett), along with Wright and Mason, that he envisioned.?
The fact that Waters pays homage to Syd Barrett in some of Pink Floyd's most famous songs shows how much human compassion Waters has unbeknownst to many critics, then and now.

But the point is, without Roger Waters, (way back then) Pink Floyd would've fell apart with Syd Barrett, Gilmour would've gone on in some other groups, pop jingles, and some jazz/blues guitaring around, like his solo work.
Gilmour wanted to make "Momentary Lapse of Reason" his own solo work, but NOBODY, (in the music industry), would support it and he knew it. He was actually told in no uncertain business/music terms that you either make it a Pink Floyd sounding album or there will be NO (Pink Floyd)album and he knew it.! -so, make no mistake about that, and the same can be said for Division Bell, ...
In the end, both were great post Pink Floyd-ish sounding Albums, with Gilmours own signature.

When I think of Pink Floyd I think of "A Saucerful of Secrets"/"Set The Controls For the Heart of The Sun"/"Corporal Clegg", :), ..., or I think of DSOTM, or "Wish You Were Here", or "Animals", or "The Wall".
But when I think of post Pink Floyd, then Gilmour's Pink Floyd'ish sounding MLOR, and Division Bell come to mind.

I will say one thing more,
after everything the Beatles and other groups before them went through, legally and otherwise, you'd think Waters and Gilmour would've known to climb down from their egotesticle pedestals back then and sow those seeds before they went bad.!
But hey!, you know what they say about hindsight?, -it's always too late. lol.
If you like that song, the lyrics, the melodies, the harmonies, ..., whatever, then that's ALL that really matters, then, or now, or tomorrow.
Peace, and Power to the People babies.

Maybe this feud isn’t quite as it seems, remember Gilmour played as a guest on Waters ‘Wall tour’. In the end we have the music they did produce, and can still enjoy listening to it now. Same with a number of great bands from that period who either split up or sadly passed away! The music outlives everything!
