I'm now listening to the audiobook of the original novel. I can honestly say this is one time the movie is actually better than the book.

"Approach and identify" is sampled in the song "Utopia" by Transfinite. I knew I recognized it from Logan's Run. Great movie.

I saw this movie with my mom when I was 6 years old. I remember gawping in wide-eyed wonder at the Love Shop scene. I do believe that was the first time I ever saw a woman's jumblies.
I mean, I guess besides my mom's. But you know.

What makes it funny (not the entire movie, just this scene), is that the computer says "Sit down, Logan five!" then immediately says "IDENTIFY!" afterwards like this isn't the same Logan Five who just got pre-identified!

Why would the computer identify him as "Logan 5" after asking him to "APPROACH AND IDENTIFY" and before he actually "identified"?

it is an interesting Fate .. but at least there was NO fail safe to protect the ID colour from going thru its cycle,.. If the system could have slowed or reversed the ID colours.. any one could go to New U and change the Outer and the ID and then .. that be another Runner to track down.. need a remake.. Scary computer!! As a kid I never found robot or computer sci-fi movies scary but now that I'm older it actually is scary because a computer has no feelings or a conscious and does what it's programmed to do. So if it's programmed to kill or destroy, it will do that. If its intent is taking you outta here, then you got a real problem.

The entire scene was very frightening when the computer took 4 years off his life and refused to answer Logan when he asked legitimate questions. I don't understand why the scene was cut in this video where it was cut. Without the rest of this scene, this video neither makes sense nor there is any reason why this piece was selected.

this is a universal film with universal concepts about society, government, politics and civilisation. love it!

The computer giving Logan assignment 033 - 03 is the only really good scene in the movie. Everything else has just enough silly going on to undercut what could have been much cooler.

I really want them to do the remake/reboot movie too bad its just in the concept phase not actual production or script being written.

This scene was so ahead of its time. It may not have enough the high tech special effects, but even after all these years, it holds strong interest. It was well done in my opinion.
