Did I miss it, or did you forget to mention the firewall issue to detect the two devices

Now the important question. Does KDE Connect work well in other desktop environments (eg Cinnamon)?

Yet... two years later, it's still flakier than Loretta Lynn's pie crust. In principal, really cool - in practice, there are issues. I've attempted to use this on two phones, one laptop and two desktops. I can connect - sometimes I can browse or transfer files for a minute or so - occasionally other features like mouse control from the phone will work - but then something will hiccup, the phone will disappear from the paired devices, or it will just freeze.

If I need to transfer files, I've had great luck with 'Android File Transfer (mtp)' - needs no app on the phone, and has an interface fresh out of Windows 3.1, and you're stuck with USB - but it works. KDEConnect, like so many KDE projects, is long on features - and not as solid as it might be underneath the chassis.

One of the most commonly-documented fact about kdeconnect (on the WWW) is, that its file-sharing system just doesn't work. It's unfortunate that you chose to use this video, just to gloat that the software works for you. It might have been better if you had posted something useful, which might have shown other people how to get this to work. -Plasma 5.8 .
