If you were to play this correctly you'd probably have to change your strings. Gilmore actually plays this in open tuning with light gauge un-wound strings. Like Fearless, and all the strings are utilized on the intro...

We all know this isn't what Gilmour actually did, right? It's a matter of record: Gilmour played this part on a re-strung guitar with only high-pitched strings. From "low" to high it goes, E (TWO octaves higher - same as High E), then A, D, and G all ONE octave higher, then B and High E in their usual octaves. The first two chords are fingered as: |--2-2-2-0-0-0--| and |--0-0-0-2-3-1--| It's simplicity itself! Gilmour also used this stringing to strum the "Comfortably Numb" choruses.

No need for the capo, just do with the first arpeggiated chord exactly what you have going with the second. It makes the picking easier - you only need to use three strings and the pattern is the same on both chords.
