How to Fix Splice Samples not working in FL Studio

Guys I think I figured it out!!! believe it or not I think the problem is the size of the name of the sample. if you rename the sample to something smaller(try 25 latters(counting spaces)) it will probably work. Idk why tho.

I found a possible solution. So like you, I had issues with some samples working in the browser panel, and other samples weren't. Going to the origin/root folder of the samples, I was able to play the samples using my media player. So nothing wrong with the wav file itself.

But then I did notice that the object file name for the "broken samples" looked very odd (on the wav file: right click>properties; under security tab, object file name), something like this:

C:\Users\Jon\Documents\SAMPLE~1\MYSAMP~1\SOUNDS~1\SOUNDS~1\SOUNDS~2\KSHMR~4\KSA5D4~1\KS95F3~1\KSHMR~4\KS7C49~1.WAV

The "working samples" all had a normal looking object file names; none of the squiggly lines and all caps, and it contained the name of the file within the address.

What I learned is that the computer goes wonky when dealing with file addresses that are longer than 260 characters. I confirmed this by doing a character count on the "broken samples" file location address compared to a "working sample"; all the "working samples" had location addresses that were shorter than 260 chars.

My solution to get FL Studio to stop having sample playback issues was to shorten the names of the folders that my samples were in. When I did this, and did a re-scan using the FLS Browser panel, every one of my samples could be previewed.

if it still doesn´t work for anyone, just convert your file to a .wav and then drag and drop it into edison, itll work

It doesnt work in my case. I cant even rename the wavs in the folder. When i want to load it it edison, flstudios crashes.

how do i fix samples from splice that i downloaded, they play on fl studio but when i drag it to the channel or pattern (whatever you wanna call it) it make this tweaking digital sound and the sample shows red on the channel settings please help :(

You cant drag audio into fl studio because you are running Fl studio in ADMINISTRATOR MODE. To fix this just right click on the FL icon > Click on "Properties" > then click on "Compatibility tab" > Then make sure the * Run this program as admin * is UNCHECKED....Click on APPLY then OK. Then it will work.

Hello it doesnt work for me. I also tryed to rename it but nothig happend. Its so weird that some wave files works and others not. Anybody knows what cause this? Im gonna convert it but i will loose quality i guess.

I've the same problem with my splice sample like you and everthing works fine when I open it in my explorer window, but when I wanna drag the sample in my editor, It still not working.
It's so frustrating.
