My first time watching your channel. My sincere condolences. I lost my mama in January of 2023. This past week was the first anniversary of her passing. It’s hard. I’m happy that you have each other. I had family but not a significant other to lean on when those difficult moments hit me out of nowhere. My prayers and love to you and yours. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Allie, I’m totally gutted for you at the loss of your mom. I’m so glad she got to meet Leo and give him lots of love. Trent, for you to have loved Leslie so much was a blessing. Many husbands don’t get to love their mother-in-laws for many reasons, but your relationship with Leslie and Russell has always been very special. Will Russell still be living with you? Blessings to everyone!!! ❤❤❤

I too lost my Mom in 25 Feb. 2017 from geriatric disease at 92 turning 93 in just a few weeks. She didn't want to eat that 2nd week of Jan. so her maintenance for anti-hypertension couldn''t be given at the hospital because she was on IV til given a liquid nutrient also in IV and that caused her systems to fail because the digestive system needs to be used too. Ive gotten her recovered from a stroke when she was 78, gotten her recovered when she was at 87 from kidney failure but no dialysis which she didn't like but done through everyday lab blood tests to monitor her Creatinine, Potassium, etc. and closely monitoring limited allowed food and expensive medications bought overseas and injections and through God's help, she recovered until she could eat normally. But dementia started that Jan. 2017 & didn't want to eat. Imagine after a month she died when she was already okay having recovered from kidney problems for 5 years. But maybe my prayers to God for her life's extensions came to an end I really grieved her loss but happy in the thought that she knew I love her so much because I did everything in my capacity to lengthen her life and care for her. It's said show to our parents our real love and care so as not to feel remorse when they leave because we didn't give them our love, respect, and care for them.

Oh, Allie, Trent and )Leo and the rest of the family, I am so sorry that your lovely Mom has left this world so soon. I know it's not the same, but she will always be with you. One thing I do sometimes is set a place for my loved ones at meals. It is a nice way to honour their presence that is still with you. ❤

As an Occupational Therapist of 40 years, I’ve worked with ALS patients and watched some pass in a few months and some who made their transition after a few years. Although they are still very vibrant in their minds, the disease is very debilitating and it all happens fast. Those who live longer require specific wheelchairs that help them hold themselves upright for swallowing and eating and even head and neck supports so they can swallow and breath. Steven Hawking, the man who brought quantum physics to the world, lived a very long time with ALS and passed recently (within the last few years).
Allie and Trent ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. And thank you for taking care of ‘dad’.

I've been doing catch-up's on y'all, and I can see where that has gotten me.
Seeing Leslie as anything but the incredibly vibrant woman she was is such a gift you gave us.
I'm so sorry for your loss seems trite, but it's really so true.
I lost my Dad to lymphoma at just 43 - I was 16. I'm 60 now.
So I truly feel your loss.
My Mom is 85 and as sharp as a tack - with terrible hearing!
Hug Russel so close. He'll be lost for quite a while, but I'm sure he'll find himself.
Time, support, and love to all of you.
