I swear your videos are a godsend, cuz I need my story to be character driven and I feel my story has become more plot structured.
ОтветитьThis is so helpful 🎊
I’m grateful! 🙏🏻
I’m curious, why do you use the tagline called make your story matter? I would think all stories automatically matter even if it’s not told or told poorly. Making it matter means having to gain outside approval and writing with others’ approval in mind.
ОтветитьHi community, this is my first time planning to writing my very own first novel. Writing is joy and peace for me at the same time. I am scrolling through Abbie’s video and I’m so grateful she’s here to help us out ❤️ I have only written about 9000 words and it’s a draft I guess, bullet points, actual conversations and descriptions 🙈 So, at this point it’s not really clear how to go from there and with this right now, I’m not even half way through my novel plan. I’m still in the first quarter. Help?!
ОтветитьEveryone needs Sriv'. I use it and Scapple for outlining. Both are so easy.
Ответитьafter 1 year of buying scrivener and being reluctant to use it and find a free alternative (it does not exist)
I think i surrender to it lol. I prefer a physical corkboard or a wall with sticky notes, but definetly this helps to not lose the pace and fight back my noisy brain, thank you
God LOVED YOU so MUCH that He sent His only begotten son to die in YOUR PLACE so you won't have to die under Gods judgement but live forever IF you fully trust in Jesus, now that he's risen. Please repent. We all broke God's law, we sinned, but Jesus paid our fine. Romans 3:23, Revelations 21:8, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-10, Romans 10:8-10. Put ur trust in Jesus now, the only way to heaven. a lot of religions say Jesus is a way, a good teacher, Jesus said he's the only way John 14:6 none of us are good Mark 10:17-27, but when we put our faith in Christ we pass from death to life John 5:24 John 11:25-26. We're clothed in his righteousness Isaiah 61:10-11 2 Corinthians 5:4 it's good to trust in him and not how we perceive things, he'll direct our paths, and it's also good to turn from evil n follow him too. Proverbs 3:5-10 2 Corinthians 5:7 Mark 8:34-38

ОтветитьI'm so excited to start! Do you have any tips on how to make through the hard times, or something that makes it fun each day? Thoughts?
ОтветитьI think that too many authors think there is a krabby patty formula for writing a good book. I can usually tell when an author has read "Save the Cat" and it usually isn't a good look.
ОтветитьI love Scrivener too but last year during NaNoWriMo, Scrivener mysteriously disappeared a huge chunk of my novel. I wouldn't have made it last year anyway because life got in the way but in January I opened my novel project and only had just over 10k words when I know I had nearly 37k in my novel at the end of NaNoWriMo (I know because I was using Scrivener to report my word counts to the NaNoWriMo website) and when I opened it in January, there were only 11,444 words in the project. I tried backups, and I looked for exported copies but to no avail. It was all gone.
ОтветитьI'm sorry, but I'm having trouble understanding your message. Can you please provide more context or clarify what you mean?
ОтветитьMy problem isn't writing the outline. My problem is writing one full chapter
ОтветитьYou lost me. This was basically one giant ad for scrivener.
ОтветитьIs there a replay of the masterclass you mentioned without having to sign up for Patreon?
ОтветитьJust curious on how you decide how many chapters you should do b/n each plot point
ОтветитьAs a wanna-be-author. Let me say, YOU ARE AN ANGEL. This is literally a life/career-saving video. Thanks for existing<3
ОтветитьAnd, yet again, I am stunned by your content, Abbie! Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. I am saving documents, making notes and learning loads from your channel! I am yet to see if I am a Pantser or a Plotter though. So, come this Oct i am going to prep for Nov, and then when Nov comes. I am going to see if i can write two books!🎉🎉 One, using the Plotters techniques, and the other, just flowing. I will be using your techniques and documents in Oct!
Once again, thank you for all your help
I Just need to bee honest here, I couldn't focus on the first part of the video bc I was pausing the hole time to read the brain dumb (🤭) and aaaaaah how cute was that 😍😍😍 I can't!!! that story seems soooooo adorable 😍 just with that brain dump I was so in love with the characters aaaaaah 😍😍😍😍😍😍 sorry, just needed to take that of my heart 🤭🤭 ok, now I can get back to the video hehehe
Love your videos by the way! Thank you so much for them ❤️
Scrivener sounds great, but also expensive. This is my first attempt at a novel and I don't want to sink a lot of money into the project and decide, "Nah, this isn't for me."
I'm doing my first NaNoWriMo and right now I'm doing intensive research into the fill novel writing process, from "Save the Cat" to "The Complete Videos of Abbie Emmons."
Or, if I'm honest, procrastination. I need to start doing the actual work pretty soon or December will be on me.
it’s so beautiful
ОтветитьDoes the coupon for 20% off work for all scrivener, like the iPhone version?
Ответитьidk, that scrivener thing kinda looks like a sponsorship.
ОтветитьI’m trying to write down a story that I’ve been writing in my head for years into a cohesive something . I’m finally confident enough in my characters and story to actually try writing it. This story is super important to me because the mental writing of it has gotten me through so much crazy life stuff. I’m so happy I found your videos! Even though I’m probably going to go the comic route your videos have been so helpful when it comes to organizing the jumbled mess of scenes and story in my head. So thank you!!! ❤
ОтветитьI would use Scrivener, however...I have a Google Laptop & it does not work with it @Abbie...
ОтветитьIs there a template for scene cards? Pls help
ОтветитьI use Dabble Writer, and it's the exact same thing there!
ОтветитьI like to make plot lines when outlining. It makes all your plot points clear, and you know what each of them are without having to scroll through an outline.
ОтветитьAbbie im so happy ur sharing your own personal story with us and you have idea how much helpful it is in understanding how to outline a chapter by chapter draft using the 3 act structure...keep it up❤
ОтветитьHey Abbie. When starting a new chapter should I start on a new page?
Ответить💚 thank you for sharing.
ОтветитьThis was very helpful, I am glad I found your channel, your recommendation for using scrivener was a wonderful recommendation. I have been using it for over a year now. Wish the best for you
ОтветитьWhich app did u use ?
ОтветитьI don’t. I’m a pantser.
ОтветитьIs scrivener a one time purchase or a sub?
ОтветитьScrivener is the best purchase I ever had with a working software. I get giddy everytime I use it
ОтветитьFunny thing is, my story is coming together by writing character profiles. 😅 it's let me figure out where they fit in everything and what they do in it and keep my cast fairly small. It also helps me figure out how the story will go as well as plan out the prequel.
ОтветитьI plotted out an erotic fiction, right down to the dates that it happens on. It takes place in 2019 and is about a "progressive man" who is put in charge of picking a group of women to join his companies board of directors. He uses his position and their ambition to aquire favours from them. Then one of the girls claims he threatened to fire her (which he didn't) and they all get together with the HR Generalist (who's just as carupt as the guy) and get some payback.
The moral of the story... I don't really think their is one. He's a creep, the women lie, and the HR Generalist isn't any better then he is... maybe HYPOCRISY RULES! Maybe?
Your videos are so inspiring! I used to be a prancer with my writing, but I've wanted to become more of a plotter. Your videos have been a fantastic source of information and have really helped me learn more about the stories I'm trying to tell.
ОтветитьI would like to say thank you, so much❤
ОтветитьI've watched a handful of your videos over the past week and you've been 1000x more helpful than any of the books I've read on writing, and that includes some written by rather notable best selling authors. Thanks so much.
ОтветитьAm I the only one that tend to outline my story by scating up a drawing of the end part of the story. And every time I am out of ideas, I just look at the drawing and think "how does it all come to this"
Ответитьdoes anybody have a free alternative to scrivener? i would totally buy it but sadly i am but a wee child living with their parents (also i may or may not have 9¢ in my account right now…)
ОтветитьOkay, so I wanted to share with you all that Reedsy book editer recently added an outlining tool that works pretty much exactly how the feature of Scrivener Abbie was using does. Of course, Reedsy doesn't have nearly as many features, but I've been working in Evernote for notes or longer documents and Reedsy for my actual chapter-by-chapter outline.
ОтветитьI love U
ОтветитьWhat's the difference between the Live Training from 2022 and the Masterclass from 2020?
ОтветитьI needed this one as I was blindly going in the first draft, thank you Ma'am for guiding us beginners through the whole process step by step.
ОтветитьWhen you're 12 years old and making a novel with 36 A5 pages per chapter
ОтветитьThank you for your videos, you inspire me so much!
