Your resons are not enough to kill, sry to make die a framework..
regular updates i.e rewriting a framework itself justify that a community wants to make it alive in the future..

though it ws nice listening your points but i dont personally think them are strong enough ..

thanks for your effort 👍

The video title is too provocative. Although I even agree with you on almost all points, I would not make a conclusion like that. Laravel has become a synonym for "PHP" due to its popularity and has brought back many developers. Therefore, titles like this are harmful for the entire PHP ecosystem, because newcomers and skeptical people feel now confirmed by this.

You might have some valid points, but it feels to me like you are pushing your project by trashing another. By talking negatively about Laravel, you're hoping to bait Laravel developers to your framework. There are better ways to market.

Laravel learning curve is small and have library for frontend too (livewire + alpinejs). But, the cons are the version change really fast compare to Yii and Symfony.
I think if compore to Yii, the livewire+alpine are great tools to build frontend.
I don't think laravel will die soon

I have moved from laravel to nestjs . The reason I move that is becoz

1. Typing system. Our team now become more people to join to develop project. Php is lack of typing support which bring some uncertainty of code management. But this is not a fault of php, I use it to prove the business model whether is work! Now we are refactoring to nestjs. Type-php is really a good direction of writing a maintainable code. For a medium and large company, the first thing is how multiple teammate can develop together in a comfortable and confident way in their code .

2. More lightweight. It also means that there is less back magic behind the scenes. ( it still have black magic but less than laravel ) .Give you more confident of what is going on of your code

3. Decorator pattern and modular system. It is the most important concept in nestjs. Auth, Authorisation, Validator is built on top of that. I think this is the only black magic. When I get comfortable with this , I immediately fall in love of how this can manage a large code base

4. AWS Cloud support . Like docker , lambda out of the box . I think trongate should really focus on that. This is the biggest topic of all php does not / just have a few mention . For example ,how you can make your code intergrate with docker or lambda out of the box. Help to setup an enterprise level architecture to deliver
Reliability, Performance , Cost saving , Operational Excellence and Security. An enterprise focus on that . Cloud is the blue ocean but not all web framework focus on that

If you can archieve that, I’m pretty sure you most probably can defeat 95% framework not just laravel even in another language. 1,200 is just a starting point

The one thing I didn't like about Laravel is the usage of statics a lot. Ended up using Slim 4 instead. (I'm primarily a back-end (API) dev and just make websites occasionally) Although I still use their query builder (illuminate/database)

I completely agree with you, too much change on each iteration. I don't use laravel because I don't like it at all in fact I don't even using PHP at all on my projects.

I agree with stability.
Man, Laravel Keep Changing, but i don't think it's dying, as programmer we use what we need right, if it's work use it otherwise don't.

Every programming language and framework has some cons but that doesn't mean it's dying even django is slower than laravel and more heavy weight but that doesn't mean it is dying. Your criticism is right but it can be better it doesn't mean it's dying. Laravel has some of the most developer tools in php, artisan cli, migrations, queues, and many more features.

For me, symfony is a FAR better framework. Its totally modular and let's you only use the parts that you need and can even use some components outside of the framework. It's also more based on traditional oop best practices.

Very interesting. I just recently moved to Laravel after some projects i just build using native php approach. And now it's really interesting to try Trongate. But, when i move from native to Laravel, i see that composer really helps me. I (as very junior developer), don't need to write anything by myself, for example, if i want to php-pdf-maker, i just need to find a composer package and install it. And so do other things like Image manipulation, third party payment gateway, etc. It really helps me because these packages have been reviewed by community so the chance it to be well written is bigger than if i write by myself. But first, I don't want to make any framework war, because i'm not really expert on php, I just want to know how Trongate solves the problem like this? Thank you David... 😊

Yeah I notice that Laravel always change versions and rewrite their framework, foundational stability is clearly compromised here.

Got a three hour test for a job for laravel it's what you call gate keeping tests should be based on php and a good ablity to problem solve not framework specific as anyone can learn a framework once you have the fundementals and those fundemntals should be stress tested. A good dev can switch technolgies as needed as long as they have strong fundementals.
