I don't watch ads and I'm at the point I would rather cancel my prime members instead of paying them $3 more for the privilege of spending $8k+ a year with them.

What am i missing here, how do you crush ghe competition by bringing ads onboard??

If I get an ad in my stream I immediately turn it off and torrent whatever I am watching

All these streaming services are going backwards, adding ads then making you pay more to get rid of them is 🤬 ridiculous. TBH, I only pay for Prime for the delivery speed & savings on products I purchase. I hardly watch anything on their streaming service.

Don't insult our intelligence by saying this is a good move. It's a money grab by Amazon pure and simple, with zero benefit for the consumer. Stop with the blatant gaslighting.

Amazon says it will be limited adverts, but I am pretty sure they will gradually start to increase the amount of adverts and will also increase the amount you need to pay if you don't want to watch the adverts. Pure greed.

To be fair, there never was a way to block commercials while watching LIVE TV like TNF. You have to do like our parents and grandparents did. Hit that MUTE button and go get another beer.

Been a prime member for past 4years. They messed with the music,return problems, and now commercials!!! Ebay costs nothing and tons of free apps with commercials to watch programs!!!

So we are told the prices have to go up and ads have to be included to support new great content. I haven't seen any new content these services produce that I thought was any good for years. What i do see is more execs, and bigger bonuses and salaries. The value proposition is now upside down but the execs refuse to see it.

Streaming services have gone the route of cable. I have NO interest in paying for sports games. The prices go up, the quality of content is circling the drain, and I'm looking at cancelling my subscriptions. The golden age of streaming is well and truly over.

We already don't watch "free TV" because of the ads, and we very rarely watch Amazon without ads, now with ads, we will probably stop watching it at all. Plus, we very rarely get 2-day shipping so we may drop Amazon Prime too.

Amazon ads are going to crush Amazon. The ap is glitchy enough as it is. I can just see it giving slow-mo sound after every other ad.

Corporations need to stop expecting to rake in higher profits every single year. It's simply unsustainable. A lot of people don't get raises every year or if they do, they get small ones and inflation also affects food, utilities and medical care. The average person isn't willing to or can't continue paying higher prices all the time for things that aren't essential. I don't understand why greedy CEOs and investors can't seem to figure that out. It's not rocket science after all.

Amazon increased prices last year and now they'll run ads or we can pay extra on top of the already increased price to avoid seeing ads. I think I may just cancel this streaming service.

Literally the insanity of coming full circle back to ads you can't avoid (FFWD or pay premium to get rid of).

As a former Amazon Ads employee, I can tell you with 100% certainty that there are people within Amazon Ads who are convinced that viewers (aka shoppers) are delighted by commercials…people love watching the same Geico ads 5 times an hour. They LOVE it…and to say differently…to go against the status quo…that’s a lonely road within Amazon

In a twist of streaming fate, we find ourselves adrift in a sea of commercials, having unwittingly paved the way by tolerating ads on platforms like IMDBTv and Freevee. It seems Amazon has merely followed the breadcrumb trail we left to Adland.

It’s going to crush Amazon not the competition…. They’ve become a worse and worse place to order from. Everything is knock poor quality products, and their customer service is nonexistent. The ads are the last straw for me. After over ten years as a prime customer I will be canceling it.

As soon as Prime Video shows ads I'll stop watching it. Easy!

Broadcast television was free, with ads… We all pay a subscription to get away from the ads… Hence, if there are ads, we will stop paying… Period… End of discussion.

But wait, there’s more… Amazon, putting more ads on their content, will make me watch Amazon Prime Video, even less than I already do…

In fact, if it wasn’t included with Amazon prime, I don’t know that I would even care! They already have tons of ads, and you can’t figure out what has ads and what doesn’t, and what is included with prime, and what requires a subscription! It’s all a mishmash of whatever! And this move, will eventually just make Amazon prime video, irrelevant.

Amazon if anything, will have some exclusive content but will mostly follow the bundling other streamer route. They know that it's better to make 3-5% of other streamer than nothing and losing billions in profit trying to create this big platform.

I have never met a single human being who has apple plus after they ran out of trial period that they get when they buy a new iphone.
Meanwhile everyone has Hulu.
Only reason amazon has huge subscriber is because of prime shipping services not prime videos.
Even though they have equal amount of subscribers to Netflix if you see the hours watched on Netflix and hours watched on Amazon it is not even a competition by any stretch of imagination.
The only giant is Netflix in streaming world.

After streaming for over 6 years now, these companies are magicians they take hundreds of millions of dollars and turn it into nothing.

We need to watch less media anyways, just cancel your Prime Video sub and go outside and walk.

Canceling mine as soon as my order ships out. This BS move by Bozos, along with it now taking 8-12 days to get my items (I am in a major city near a warehouse!) is ridiculous. I’m done!

It's a matter of price. I don't want to pay more than $20 for TV. Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, even Disney is cheaper than that.
