I fell into the hype and blind bought the extrait version and let me tell you… it has been the biggest perfume disappointment everrrr. First of all, I can barely smell it, is very very faint! I understand there is something about the baccarat perfumes that some people cannot really smell it, I must be one of those because I can barely smell the extrait, and the regular baccarat (went to the store after buying the extrait because I was freaked out about it not smelling strong) and I cannot smell that one at all! That’s just insane for such an expensive perfume. In terms of smell, I think is definitely nice, but I fail to see what is SO special about it. Maybe it is my nose that fails to pick up the fragrance accurately. Anyhow, I won’t be repurchasing baccarat rouge because it was a fail for me. I want to be able to smell my perfume 🤨 I’ve worn it twice and no compliments yet.. will have to test it further to see if people smell it even if I can’t.

After watching sooo many videos about BR540, I hadda try it!! Saw another vid of a sis talkin' 'bout how she ordered samples from the Francis K site for $17. I jumped on the site and...inflation. For 4 samples of my choice (BR540, BR Extrait, 724 and Aqua Vitae Forte), it was $27 with S&H.
I sprayed all on a piece of paper. Went back an hour later and BR540 smelled like my Bond No. 9 Greenwich Village. On my skin, the BR540 smells great but I prefer Greenwich Village. I haven't worn the Extrait on myself yet.

My big problem with edp is the medicinal vibe, does extrait have the same vibe ?

You’re right. The general public doesn’t know Baccarat, let alone any niche fragrance. A lot of times us fragrance people are so in tuned with the fragrance world that we project the awareness into the general public.

Think about it. All the steps required // all the time it took// to even smell baccarat yourself.

Many people don’t have a Neiman next to them to test fragrances.

I got the extrait and maybe it’s because as a man I can tolerate sweet fragrances better but damn BR 540 extrait is worth the buy. The dry down is damn near witchcraft 😂

The smell definitely grew on me for 540. I really want order a discover set but they always smell slightly different when I get the full bottle. As far as everyone wearing it, I'm in Atlanta & I smell it a lot. Maybe the ppl that say everyone is wearing it live in Atlanta lol. But I don't think it matters as long as you feel good when you wear it! I have some staples that I will purchase forever, regardless of who is wearing it!

The problem is I love both 😭. ❤❤I did the same thing as you and got the extrait first. I’ve received more compliments than any other perfume with the extrait. But now that it’s hot out I’m enjoying the EDP more because it’s lighter. I need both always ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I have the extrait version. I felt like in the edp the saffron is too strong and it smells like when you go to a hospital and it’s been freshly disinfected lol very medicinal. The extrait has the saffron too but it’s not as dominant to my nose. I love the extrait so much I invested in the biggest bottle. I know my bank account hates me but that’s ok lol

The average person definitely isn’t wearing it. If you encounter it that person is either successful or reckless

I have the BR extrait. I haven’t seen anyone else mention this but it feels and smells like a ghost of menthol! I can feel a cooling sensation in my throat!

Jersey boy i wear the edp thinking about getting the extrait. This stuff doesn’t last long at all. But i love the smell so much. Sometimes i layer this with my Creed Aventus. Amazing combo

It’s unisex. I have them both. Love them. LOTTS OF COMPLIMENTS. I often layer the ext with my Creed Aventus

I agree about the extrait. Love it!! I also got a sample of what I thought was the OG 540 and fell in love but realized days later it was the extrait version. I finally got a sample of the OG and it does the disappearing act on me as well. I own the extrait but haven’t made up my mind about picking up the OG.

I felt the same way when people were like "Everyone is wearing it"....I was like depends on the circle you run with I assume. Guaranteed me going to my local store or to my office job....not going to run into everyone wearing it lol ... I bought the original and fell in love with it at 1st sniff so now I went ahead and purchased the Extrait...it's a blind buy so I hope it is as great as the original :)

I didn't hop on the Baccarat train until early 2020... and to date... I've only smelled it on ONE other person. And I always get at least one compliment from someone who isn't familiar with the fragrance

Extrait smells way stronger in my opinion.. 2 sprays is intoxicating

I like the edp over extrait because it’s more subtle and can wear more casually. The extrait is more of a fall/winter scent or special occasion. I think I will get more wearability with edp.

you already know Extrait is my everyday --- I bought my first full bottle in 2021 and i'm halfway through it. I bought another full bottle last year just to make sure I wouldn't run out! looking forward to stocking up (for the low-low 😉)

I love the extrait . I have both . I love how the Edp projects so I bought the 6.8 oz. The extrait is just so intoxicating though . I gotta have it !
