Genesis h Christ! Why not just change your name from Mortske Repair to "will it run?" Member back in the day when you use to put out shorter videos that were entertaining, and actually showed people how to REPAIR things?

I know this is a older video but I still felt compelled to comment. My favorite engine is the SBC. I'VE NEVER Been a Dan of the 327 but I've never had one. My favorite Chevy SBC Isn't a factory production engine but I'd have to say a 383 stroker is my favorite

I've found if you can spin the engine some while priming the oil pump you get better results. I'll pull the plugs and turn it with a big half inch rachet

oil took a while as you didnt fill the filter with oil, no problem but takes longer for pressure.

What ever you do, keep it true to a 1961, with the exception of the frame and glass, and other interchangeable parts, keep it Aja “61”!
And if you check out in the southwest, I bet you can find a 61 front clip.
Anyway keep working on it and we’ll keep watching and commenting. Good luck

Yeah it wasn't good about small block Chevys you points gapping on them old ones like that wear 19 and as well was said at 30° if you use a dwell meter and then they got that little flexible Island magic a open up that door you can Justin points while the engine is running that's why I like about Chevy you can just as well while it's running board you couldn't do that or anybody else at that time shall you did have the right idea on that

Enjoyed watching you go through what I'm about to do in Tminus 30ish.
Mine is almost exact scenario 65 327 low supposed miles on a rebuild been sitting in a corner 20+ years .
I might of missed the part where you took #1 cylinder TDC ON COMPRESSION STROKE then placing the rotor towards #1 putting wires in firing order from there .
GOOD TIMES SOUND OUT OF TIME TO ME

Ardun headed flaties is God's gift to hotrodding and nowadays available new in box not just estate sales every decade or so and it is still the best thing ever done to a flathead besides having Bonnie and Clyde behind the wheel and that letter is on display in ford's museum or possibly the Peterson hotrod hall of fame in California its definitely a part of national history of America 🇺🇸 even a little 45,60 and the almighty 90 hp flaties had a great rumble the impact that Zora Arkus-Duntov has on the road today is just a few cars maybe have seen a few as the grandfather of the corvette the man responsible for the 302 Z/28 that Penske and Sunoco expressed total domination in 67-69 Trans-am racing series and the famous duntov 30-30 cam💯 302 Chevy is a early 327 block with a 1957 steel crank from a 283 and it will take all day being spun above 7,000 rpms, nothing against technology but we still can't build another pyramid with the largest cranes ever to exist and it wasn't ever done by a million people and a long rope 😂 but 221 cubic in Chevy indy v8s are amazing and probably the reason why you only have Chevy and Honda powered cars its one thing to be fast for a few laps but it's not important unless you finish the race

Double hump non bolt holes are available in all valve sizes and many people have 1.94 /1.48 and the easiest way to tell the 2.02 heads are so close to each other that you can only get a business card to slide between the valves but the 1.94 fuelie heads with 64 cc combustion chambers are a great head 461,462 really rare 462x casting 882 that have 1.94 &2.02 with accessory bolt holes any are better than a 1.78 valve with 76 cc heads unless you are going turbo and just a head swap would be a lot easier to lower compression then having to change pistons and the wonderful thing about the vortec 5.0 or 305 heads aka fast burn head from the tuned port Era pre the idea of having to remove your harmonic balancer for a tune up and it must have been someone thinking too much never before and we all hope that it will never happen again I have a couple of old 3/8 drive flat head sockets for the timing and oil pan fasteners on the early sbc and many people don't know 305 Chevy was inline 6 cylinder first great content you and duff are the best 💯👍👍 too bad we've on opposite sides of merica or we could have a samich consumption contest you have nice dry body's in SD and I have junkyards full of 500 dollar LS powered vehicles hrere in FL since Ian now thousands of supercharged lsa and hellcats that we're just in garage and wet not ran in water it's not much different from what you have seen in bad head gasket and water in cylinder is not a big deal as long as nobody tried to compress water 💯
