Best Refrigerators 2024 [don’t buy one before watching this]

Terrible reviews….quite clearly they’re only interested in glitz and glamour. No mention that you’ll be replacing your Samsung or LG in less than 5 years, never mind the aggravation you’ll have with breakdowns. Unfortunately, in 2023, most refrigerators are junk. It boils down to picking the one that is the best of the worst.

My LG fridge stopped cooling in under 3 years. Just an anecdote.

In my case, Samsung has used internal degradable cover seals, which then has let outside air, to get in and deposit its moisture, forming ice to build up and expand out until the fridge framework cracked, deeming to fridge at that point to become unrepairable. Samsung have multiple US class action lawsuits happening for similar issues but here in Australia they have again chosen not to recall their fridges back, or to replace, or to perhaps remedy this issue in some other way. The fridge technician that I have spoken with said that other manufactures don’t have this issue.

When revealing the number 2 and number 1 I understood that this top was: Worst refrigerators. LG and Samsung are so bad.

Anyone recommending a Samsung appliance should have their license to review appliances revoked. I'm in the market now to replace a Samsung Frig. We tried two and both failed early. Our current frig has had both icemakers fail. The right door fell off one day. I bought a new steel hinge and fixed that myself. But seriously a door should not fall off. The bottom freezer handle broke off. A common problem because you are pulling on an ALL PLASTIC hinge. A problem Samsung doesn't care to fix. We have ice building up now in the refrigerator and the freezer stopped freezing properly a long time ago. If you are thinking of buying a Samsung try talking to some friends that have owned one for five or more years. They will tell you not to buy one.

Samsung & LG have a ton of lawsuits.

Went shopping for appliances in northwest Houston at a Best Buy Discount store, Highway 249 and 1960. It was a newly opened location, and the store's inventory was primarily returned appliances. Most of the appliances were Samsung and LGs. Doesn't say much about the quality of today's products!!!

My LG compressor stopped working 1 year and few months. They replaced it, it worked 3 more years without a problem. Few months before 5 full years and for technicians could not get it to work. The temp in the fridge is 60
No ice in sight, no freezing.

I have LG it worked fine for six years and I have issues with I do not recommend it 👎👎

What a worthless review.

I'm on my 2nd LG. 1st one lasted 2.5 years. 2nd one now is 3.5 years. Compressors failed. 1st one got a deal to replace with exact unit instead of replacing compressor. This one I'm junking because I don't want the hassle. Ice maker was great and they held perfect temperature. But when the compressor starts going out it becomes very noisy. No mo LG for me. GE is now owned by the Chinese. So its going to be a whirlpool with as few bells and whistles as possible.

GE sucks. I just brought the samsung smart hub refrigerator. Its going to be an second refrigerator in the garage. Cant be no worse than GE or Whirlpool

LG died on me after 3 years and couldn't be fixed! Stay away from LG.

Samsung has the worst refrigerator product ever. Ice Maker repair issues are causing other components to fail and those problems are yours to deal with. I have been dealing with them now for 6 years. Samsung customer reps keep calling my 7 yr refrigerator old! The coupon they offer to buy a new one is because they can't seem to get the thing repaired is 50% off a hyped up suggested retail price which after all said and done offers about a real savings of $200.00 off the local pricing. Love the 4 door French fridge when it works.

Why NOT buy a Samsung....number one, MADE IN CHINA...number two...MADE IN CHINA....number three, MADE IN CHINA

Can't understand why LG & Samsung make so many top fridge reviews? Are they PAYING for these endorsememts? Quora and several other reviewer websites (especially actual repair techs) aggressively dispute these glowing endorsements. My consumer report rated best buy LG fridge lasted 4.8 years into its 5 year sealed components warranty, half of the industry standard for a fridge in general. Can't get LG auth. Svc center to answer repeated warranty svc calls, do these reviewers realize that a warranty is only a warranty if its executed or honored? Reviews are encouraged while the consumer is still in the honeymoon stage of appliance ownership, true performance of anything should include product longevity in its review, which most of the time does not get into the review or the website shuts down before the new wears off of the appliance that should last 12 years (refrigerators)

I have a Whirlpool freezer on the bottom, Stainless works great. Don't use the ice maker ever had
a problem.I spoke with a number of companies that repaired Whirlpool they said best long
term for the money..

Finally, honest comments & reviews, from real people, about longevity and repairs (every other search pushes how it looks and all the bells and whistles). Almost impossible to find. I suppose the days of having the ugly 30 year fridge that just won't die, are about gone and we're forced to accept the fact that a $2000 - $6000 purchase is only going to last 8-10 years (if you're lucky). So..this is what I've gleaned from all the comments - avoid LG and Samsung. We have a KitchenAid that we purchased in November of 2017. Six repair companies and $800 later, it's still not cooling and shows a Power Failure every 3- 4 minutes. Constant beeping and whirring and buzzing - it's the audio version of being waterboarded daily. Control Board issue we thought. Replaced it. Still not working. Waiting for the warranty company to "decide" if they'll replace (code for: "here's your ACME brand option or take a check for $1200 to replace what will now cost you close to $4000).So what's everyone's consensus for the best fridge (not necessarily budget, but don't need or want all the Tech thingy's), with the least amount of trouble.

I just ordered the Miele Freestanding Pigeon Pair. The best fridge and freezer I have come across with 10 years warranty.

I tend to disagree with your assessment, LG and Samsung are the worst to buy because they are almost impossible to repair, they only look good, if you want reliable service and performance, GE, Frigidaire or Whirlpool the best way to go

I am a appliance repair technician and I’m currently employed with GE, I worked for Samsung for several years prior to my switch. In my opinion and experience, never buy a LG or Samsung! And if you do, make sure you purchase at least a 5 year warranty on them. And be sure to have a secondary fridge in the garage. The compressors are garbage and their ice makers are a joke. Waaaay to many issues with design and workmanship. Hell samsungs new design doesn’t even have ice in the door, they moved it to the freezer! (Bespoke)
All appliances will last you 5-7 years before you’ll need a major repair.
Just buy within your budget, avoid bells and whistles, stay away from Sam and Lg and make sure you buy a extended warranty. That’s all I have.

LG is the worst refrigerator. The compressor is unreliable. LG lost a law suit over this compressor, and had to shell out millions in penalties. It is obvious that you don't have the information necessary to make a credible review, and your recommendations are not you are not to be trusted. Shame on you for picking one of the most unreliable brands available. Only Samsung is worse.
