The Gibson Harrison-Clapton "Lucy" Les Paul : Presented By Guitar Center

I remember watching this video 10 year ago when i had no idea who Eric Clapton was, i was thinking he was just a guitar expert so something. Lol

I have the exact same amp and les Paul custom shop historic collection which makes me feel happy to have the same gear gear as Clapton,

Clapton and Harrison could play it again just because a mexican guitar player was honest and he returned back to Harrison, the guitar was stolen and this man bought it on a music store in the US, after that, Harrison people's went to Guadalajara, México for recover it.

I have Eric, and the Stones, and The Who, and Gary Moore, and Peter Green, and Zepplin, to thank, for wonderfull time stamps in my life.

I love listening to Eric, just do. LOve the way he quickly interjects other ideas before finishing a sentence, so much to say.

I can't understand what Clapton ever saw/heard in a Strat. I wish my noodling sounded like that.

This Twinolux amplifier was designed by Clapton in his own ear, according to his own understanding of tone... Ok. But why he use Fender Bandmaster or others on the stage?.. Was Twinolux only a marketing object?

imagine being his neoghbor youd just blessed with awesome blues through a tweed amp all the time, he wouldnt like me id be knockin on his door all the time to ask to show me this scale or progression or do u wanna jam?

takinga new guitar and replicating the scratches and dings from another, an actual vintage instrument, is pathetic. Who would pay for such a thing?

YES!

A Les Paul Standard with humbuckers is a very good guitar, especially the late 50's models..However, a vintage gold top Paul with soap bar pick-ups will give you way better harmonics and a grittier blues sound .. Gold Top through a twin would have better natural distortion and sustain than a Les Paul with humbuckers.. But the Les Paul Standard is more versatile for different genres and playing styles... Another downside of the old gold tops was the trapeze style bridge which was notorious for intonation and tuning issues ..The vintage aspect of that style bridge was better off being kept in a box rather than on the guitar ..That is , if you actually wanted to play it and not just have it in a fancy display case to impress people ..

I like how he keeps fiddling with the knobs until trying to find a sound he likes and he never looks completely satisfied. He just tries to get the job done, say a few nice words, get the paycheck, call it a day.

Cool Vid but the constant camera flashes and shutter snaps are annoying as hell. Could the promo photographers cool it for like 5 minutes???

Clapton has seen so many Les Pauls why would he care about a replica of a guitar that’s a replica of a replica of a replica… a stock Les Paul with a fat neck lol east pass… I’d rather have a Squier bullet than a Gibson

Dang, now I'm confused, I always thought Eric borrowed George's strat for the solo on my guitar weeps. Or was it a les Paul? I didn't know George even owned a les Paul at that time. Boy am I confused. Was it a strat or a les Paul that Eric played? Someone please tell me...🤔

That giggle before he cranks the amp and says "You're not gonna like this" is one of my favorite Clapton moments.

Clapton turns into a Chad when a guitar is put in his hands

There's a Clapton I like to hear, and a Clapton I don't care to hear. When he's playing a Gibson, I like to hear him. When he picks up a Strat, I lose all interest. He plays rock when he's got a Gibson in his hands. He plays blues when he uses a Strat. He plays elevator music when he's playing an acoustic guitar.

That's not a Fender Twin.

I'm sure most people know this - but just in case you're a newbie and you don't know it - Lucy started out as a 57 Goldtop with PAF humbuckers as standard. So for all intents and purposes she is identical (mostly) to a 59 Sunburst. I believe she was owned by Rick Derringer, he had it re-painted (by the factory) as a cherry top, but he didn't like it and Lucy went up for sale, and was promptly purchased by Clapton.
