I am about to attempt to lime plaster some walls. Any particular tips for working with lime plaster for a newbie?

My first patch is a reasonably stable, flat and accessible area. The real challenge will be an attic wall which is quite crumbly. I am tempted to spray a decent amount of PVA onto the wall. Does that make sense or is my thinking completely bonkers?

😂I'm sure it's harder than you make it look. Just doing mud can be a pain. Plaster tastes so much worse. Too real with the tongue comment and the gurn, i think everyone does it but you're the first I've heard mention it.

If you are too poor to pay a tradesman , just watch videos and BODGE IT yourself like this clown. My house is getting left to professionals…. But not everyone has money or self respect 😅

I was gonna say , dont polish it up too much as well cos your paint wont stick properly . i did this on a ceiling and i got a complaint from the painters cos the paint wouldnt stick and they had to sand down the whole ceiling ,, oopsee me ,lol.. Also dont trowel it up too much before its really ready or it will just start to bubble up and start coming off the wall,, ive seen loads of people do that and they dont know why it starts falling off

Why does it crack at the seems of the plaster board? I had council do soke of mine but now we have seem cracks all over like big squares

I tried it years ago. Back breaking work and must be skilled at it.Not for me.

You could have told us a bit more about how to plaster the wall e.g. advice about the technique of applying the first coat of plaster - you cut all that bit out!
