You don't have to press the release button with the wrist straps, just unlock it. Try it!

just do what i did and remove the lock. all you need is a screwdriver and it takes like 30 seconds to fix this. and no the strap wont accidentally slide off, it's actually secure in place enough to survive any wiggling or air-punching you wanna put your joy cons through.

Lol if people can't line up 2 fucking symbols, I'm pretty sure we need to take away their switches and give them duplo blocks again.

It really isn't nearly close to that stiff. I agree that it shouldn't have been possible to put it on upside down but once you have it right it's just as easy as with the Switch or the grip.

It's not a design flaw if you don't follow directions. You can hate the design all you want but it's your incompetence that prevents you from using it correctly. I've never had an issue with my straps, but that's because I don't think making sure I slide them in from the top is too much to ask for. They are REVERSABLE IF you slide em in from the top, that's the one thing you have to do and you failed. Remember before type C or Lightning adapters???? You had to make sure they were going on right way. Idk how this can be your legit issue with the switch. The joycons connectivity issues are a design flaw, not your lack of following directions.

They should have had a little bit hanging off next to the plus/minus to make it impossible to put it on the wrong way, tbh people should read the manual for once, nintendo is not to blame for this one

That may be the case for some but my straps for my Red Pair of Joy Comes n slide off with little effort. I don't even have to press the release button on the Joy con. I think it just depends?

@SlaterGator409 - 15.04.2018 04:43

First off. How would you manage to put them on upside down? It's obvious that the strap doesn't come off the top. So it's understandable how they go on. Mine have come off very easily since the day I got it. And you don't need to push the release button to get the strap off. As long as it's unlocked it slides off. I have had no problems at all with the straps

Just a reminder to you people, you do NOT need to hold the back button down on the Joycon when you are removing the strap. In fact, it is actually easier to remove if you don't hold the button down. Just hold the Joycon upside down, and slide the Joycon up when holding the strap.

Well for me I can slide the Joy-Con strap on and off the Joy-Con just as easily as if I was trying to slide it of the Switch

Good to put out I’m pretty sure this is just a problem (when it comes to being difficult to take off the correct way) with the odd switch mine can come off and on perfectly I think the people who put them on wrong are slightly idiotic

Huh I didn’t know people had problems with this I remember unboxing and was so confused by everything but after a minute looking at it I was like “ok so this goes like this.” and I never got it stuck because I just assumed it’s top to bottom when you slide it in

I don't have a problem with what direction to put them on the joycon, my problem is remembering what direction I need in order to take them off. Been close to doing it the wrong way but caught myself in the act.

Just saying, the reason it’s so hard to remove the straps... you’re not supposed to press the release button, just make sure it’s unlocked and move the joycon toward the strap...
