The TRUTH About AirPods Max (vs Bose QuietComfort Ultra)

I’ve been using Quiet Comfort headphones since 2005. The first time I put a set on, I heard things in my favorite music that I had never heard before. I think I paid almost $300 for them at the time, which was an enormous amount for young me. But it was one of the best purchases I ever made. I literally wore those headphones completely out.

Later, I’ve been wondering about getting some really expensive headphones. What am I missing?

The Bose can’t turn off ANC. So it’s but buyable.

In booth cases, a lot of peoples get allergy with this 2 headsets

Thanks for the quality of the video, but your aim is to bring out the Bose to stand out as far as the Airpods Max is just taking over. Airpods Max are just incredibly great and it's magic. I love all Apple products for their quality, the extreme sense of perfect rendition, and the classy premium aspect of whatever they put out. Airpods Max is a premium and the best headphone on the market right now. The headphone to beat, simply.

The Bose Ultra has a 3d effect to it. It's so much better than the QC45

My primary complaint with the Bose is when you have them paired two multiple devices. You will get occasional stops in the primary content your listening too when the other device wakes up or gets a notification. I would prefer if there was a way to eliminate these interruptions. Right now I turn disconnect the secondary device.

The AirPods Max sound like $550 headphones. The Bose sound like $230 headphones.

Noise cancelling was always Bose strong point

I have both - one comment I would like to make is the Apple connectivity with Siri. Working at home using the AirPods I have found them comfortable for hours, but most noticeably is the ‘Siri’ actions I can control the iPhone (take a call easily), Siri the lights on and off etc…. I don’t need to reach for any devices - they just work :)

The Bose Ultra headphones arrived today (Jan 3) and will be returned in the morning.
I have never been so disappointed with any product from Bose in my life and my history with them goes back to 301 Speakers in the early 1980s.
They sound like cardboard, the immersive sound is inferior to Apple's Spatial Audio, and the nice buttons of the QC 45 have been replaced by a mess including a capacitive switch which is a cheap substitute for a real control.
I think I will wait for the next generation AirPods Max. I really wanted to like the Bose but the sound and switchgear is just unacceptable - especially at the price point.

Tried the Ultra today. Liked it sound wise, but its low volume and low bass are a bit disappointed.

Im just a regular headphone user who don’t care about specific features…I’m just belong to an apple ecosystem who can afford to buy IPhone AirPods Max Apple Watch Ultra all together…it will give me confidence because of top notch sound quality,comfort,iconic design and a eye catching if you have one!….other brand RIP…..

I left Bose headphones due to build quality which was not discussed here. My last QuietComforts I had to replace the ear pads once per year as the seam would tear. And you have to buy direct replacements from Bose at over $40 as off brands were not the same sound when used. I was paying a $40 tax annually to use those headphones. The ear pads on Apple are just plain more long term planned with their material choice.

Sound wise, I think Apple is due a new model in the next year for better tech and USB-C. I’ll still go Apple, but right now I’m not leaving these for Bose Ultra.

Bought the Qc ultra and sold it in a couple of days, the sound is so flat even with the Eq settings. My Sony XM 3 did a better job.

Those Bose are 100% better sounding in the first test, shocked you chose the AirPods.

for sound quality the linkin park song was noticeably clearer, although less bass heavy, but you could distinguish way more instrumental happening

Both sound bad through my Beats Studio buds

ALL my last 5 Bose products broke down after 2 and a half years. Bose sleepbuds, Bose Revolve, Bose Revolve +, Bose Soundbar 300. They sound amazing and "look" durable but in reality they are not.

I care about audio quality more than all the other stuff like ANC and that's where the BOSE fall out right away. The Airpods Max are straight up to expensive for how they sound. I owned the Bose 700 and now the Yamaha-LH700A and the Bose just had a terrible sound compared to Yamaha.

If you want the AirPods Max to sound S tier turn off the Dolby Atmos and turn on special audio is a world difference and how the music sounds I recently discovered this after having them for almost a year completely changed the way I hear the music also turn off EQ and turn off sound check trust me anybody who said they don't sound loud enough which I used to say turn off those features And they get crazy loud and have extreme clarity

I had the Bose QC25, QC35, and the beautiful 700 series in rose gold, and I was incredibly skeptical of the Max headphones as I wasn’t particularly impressed by the normal AirPods and AirPod Pros, but I preordered them to try them out…I was shocked by the build quality, and also by the clarity and separation of instruments, which is incredibly important to me as I’m someone who listens to Rachmaninov, and Tim Henson. This, combined with the seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem (which I’m immersed in) made them my primary overhead headphones.

AirPod max are my favorite. Aesthetically they look so much better.

Next time turn on the bass and include the Beats headphones...

In terms of weight, Bose headphones are very comfortable. But if in terms of sound, Apple Max crushes Bose headphones, they are not on the same level at all. From the sound to the clarity, the feeling of surround sound and the resolution of the sound, the sense of space is not on the same level. I have sold Bose headphones and I feel very disappointed.

Were you connected to a qualcomm compatible device? that COULD effect the sound quality, by effecting the bitrate/codex used. It would be interesting to hear the sound quality compared, between codex's.
