Why I Got Circumcised at 37

I got it done at around 30 because the foreskin was tightening because of infection due to diabetes. That's how I found out I was diabetic. The biggest problem I had was recovery with stitches made of a black, barbed suture. if I moved wrong the suture would turn around and stab the head of my penis. Oh, so painful and lasted forever. My wife and I refer to it as my sex change.

Thanks for sharing the numerous positives because the trend seems to be going the other way. Of course it should be done on infants. The claims about "loss" and problems all of course come from adults when it is not ideally done and can have some adverse affects. Glad your's seems to have gone well aside from the recovery.

I am now an old retired GP. Part of my training in my last year of medical school and throughout my year of internship, plus for some years in General Practice, I performed many circumcisions on newborns with good results. When a newborn is properly wrapped by a good nursery nurse, the gentle handling while cleansing and stretching the foreskin, keeping the baby calm, helped a lot. I had used mostly the Gumco Clamp, if not available, the Plastibell
with only momentary discomfort, then proper wrapping with lubricated gauze. When done properly, no bleeding occurs. As a Naval Medical officer, we learned to do circumcisions on adults, which with adequate local anesthesia.
a much more involved procedure cutting correct amount of foreskin and using dissolve type sutures and lubricated gauze, post-op pain meds and something to hinder erections gave good results.

I think the practice of newborn circumcision should be promoted to decrease the need for having one done as an adult. I know your experience was a difficult one, but you are to be commended on undergoing it and wish you an enjoyable outcome.

Don't do it it's just society's way to control men high sexual energy and just being a guy 💪💥

I am uncut, a d have never had any issue with it, or any cleanlyness issues, you just wash it everyday in the shower same as you wash your arse, armpits, face legs & feet, its really not rocket science is it, and if its tight you just stretch it and work it up and down until it adjusts, something wrong that guys say they dont like to touch it even to wash, its only the same as your nose or eye lids, and we dont cut them off for fun do we.

Get it cut. You’ll have a much better looking tool. Your sex life will improve immensely and your orgasms will be incredibly intense. No more infections and no more awful smells. Partners will line up at your door waiting to get some action with you. It’s a no-brainer.

Here in the Philippines...circumcumcision is cheap! And every summer vacation...there are a lot of free circumcision for young boys being conducted by lots of doctors and the government

And why you felt the need to tell us you mutilated yourself for no medical reason?

I was circumcised as an infant so I remember nothing about it. I had a friend who had it done in his late 20's and he said it was awful and a very painful recovery.

Decreased chance of infection is bs, the foreskin is a protective gland. Some circumcised penis's actually get an infection FROM the circumcision and basically fall off. DON'T get circumcised, unless your skin is too tight. Infections and all that other cap is NOT a reason, especially with ED from your unsensitive calloused penis.

Cut dick is always good and better. Its clean and good hygiene. When you are uncut its dirty and bad smell because of cheese around your head dick.

I was told in my childhood that I was circumcised. My father was not, so all I knew was that mine looked "different" than his. However, when I was older and in the locker room of the school gym or the health club, I ocasionally had friends who would remark "Oh, you're not circumcised huh?" And I always answer "Yes I am". But again, their's also looked very different than mine. I came to learn later than I was in fact circumcised but apparently only the end of the foreskin was cut and a bit on the diagnonal, so looser on the underside. Sometimes referred to as semi-cut. The frenulum, which is a very sensitive part, was left entirely intact. I have seen circumcised penises where the skin is pulled back very taut and the frenulum is entirely gone. Understanding that it is a sensitive spot, I appreciate the person that circumcised me with my future enjoyment in mind. 😂

I got at 20 for medical reasons. My live improved very much. No more health problems and my sexual life was far better than before.

Good for you to bring the issue up. According to the responses below, it's necessary to keep talking and even arguing about the matter. 
When I was 59 I had to be circumcised. As a not so long diabetic-2 patient, I was prescribed in 2017 'the state of the art' dapaglifozine in the medication called Forxiga. The 'overload' of blood sugar came out by urine. They said. This affected my foreskin so badly that it eventually could not move forward, backward, up-and-down without any bleeding. 
My GP founds me quite a genius that Forxiga / dapaglifozine was doing the bad trick to the top of my dick. He sent me to a urologist in a local hospital. The urologist checked me and ordered almost immediately a circumcision. His treatment came out very well to me. There was no need to cut off all of fore skin. He cut just under the dick head, leaving parts of the skin behind to stimulate.

Here in the Philippines circumcision is a custom, I was 12 years old when I got circumcised, and now I'm 36 I'm very thankful it's a custom here

I'll have my circumcision in 3 weeks. I have to say that I'm pretty scared to go to it. Since I live in Finland, and here circumcision is not common. We only have a few doctors who are specialized in circumcision. And obviously they work in private and I can't afford that. So I have to go public and hope that my surgeon knows what they are doing since they rarely even do circumcisions 😅

ummm no thanks. I'm jewish. in order for one to become a jew if not born jewish he must be circumised later on in life... if he's not already... so my friend converted in his mid 20s, and needed to go through the process since he wasn't circumcised. lol he traumatized me.. he's like I'm bleeding everywhere.. I can't control the bleeding... he's still alive, but he said that experience was scary.. thank goodness I had mine done at birth lmaoooo.. I can't imagine doing it again in my 30s ....

It's also a myth that sensitivity goes away with infants who are circumcised at birth. It's no big deal.

The surgeon should have prescribed Valium for you for at least 7 days after the procedure. Valium interrupts R.E.M. Sleep, that time of night when men get erections while sleeping. This would have prevented pulling stitches and possible having the stitches completely come loose. If that happens, you have to be stitched again.

I will give my son the choice at 16 of he wants to do it. Im 36 and still psd from when my frenulum was ripped clean off. I had forced it not to heal back, and even those I can retract the foreskin now. I still get a yank on the foreskin when I thrust deep, and I it can make me go soft. I want to do this.

How is your love life aber being circumcised?

Here in American I've always heard they don't like a uncut penis. They just think they are weird looking and probably not clean. It's kind of like the ones that have it don't want it and some cut men with they had it. It's like they did this without my permission.

Who need circumcising? Doctors. Why? Becouse of money. Typically developed penis allows run daily activity both with foreskin on or off the glance.

To me non therapetic or non consensual circumcision is genital mutilation

When my older brother was born, my mother didn't speak English, and the doctors circumcised him. Ten years later, when I was born, my mother found an Italian doctor who said to her "Signora, this is a silly and unnecessary American practice, leave your son intact, he will enjoy making love more". God bless that man. Thankfully, I have all my body parts, as billions of other men do worldwide, and I have no "hygienic issues", give me a break, man and forget about this silliness.

im confused at the guys here, mine was tight too but i didn't cut off a piece of my dick. instead i loosened it up by massaging it up and down and carefully trying to pull it down when showering using the soap to help loosen and slowly steadily it got looser. now i can pull it down fully no creams no mutilation nothing.

I once treated a middle-aged man with phimosis and then developed balanitis. Awful for the man.

I got at 32 for a medical issue for which it was a possible, but arguably not necessary, solution. I'm 34 now and still kind of on the fence on the bottom line. Anyways, thanks for putting information out there on adult cc.

For circumcision does insurance cover for you if it's a medical reason? What would the medical condition or problem be called if I need to explain the medical condition to my insurance?

... The foreskin is a natural covering for the glans, and when it is removed, an entire plexus of nerve endings is cut which eliminates much of the pleasure ... and YES it is a type of male genital mutilation, unless strictly necessary due to malformations or justified medical conditions ... !!!

If circumcision truly prevented STDs wouldn't we be seeing less cases in the US compared to Europe? The US actually has way more cases of sexually transmitted infections

I got cut as an adult and the worst part was waiting until I could masturbate again. It took about four weeks for me to be good to go.

... Boys are born with a foreskin and it is completely natural, therefore circumcision should be performed only if it is justified by medical reasons ... otherwise doing it for other reasons (religious, aesthetic, etc) is a type of male genital mutilation and should be avoided at all costs ... period ... !!!
