What nonsense, what utter useless guidance. People ask for help because they have a problem. But now my head hurts even more now.

Hey, Thanks for the video. Any idea how to get rid of this error while following your steps mentioned.

$ xrandr --newmode "2560x1440_60.00" 312.25 2560 2752 3024 3488 1440 1443 1448 1493 -hsync +vsync
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default

My monitor works perfect in windows dual boot but my Ubuntu 22 LTS somehow fails to recognize the same.

Huge thanks for this video, very valuable. But how other comments indicate, it should be easier in Linux do this kind of configurations/settings
.

So my issue is the resolution on my screen ........ wacks out...... the screen goes to a very unclear version. I fix by going to display picking a different resolution (lower scale) hitting apply then when the next screen pops up I hit the revert button and the screen returns to normal. Problem is the reoccurance. Sometimes may take 20 minutes sometimes 5 min and then I have to repeat the process. Not sure if this is a hardware issue of a software issue and I have not seen anyone experiencing the same so kind of lost. I have plenty of memory and the computer easily fast enough to run 20.04 but kind of lost how to determine if a hardware issue or software. I guess I can delete and reinstall ubuntu but that would take a lot of time, at least for me so looking for a solution that I can do

This kind of crap is why so many people hate Linux. The function of configuring ANY monitor resolution should be easy to access and administer without using command lines to input obscure routines that have to be searched for on the web. Until then, Linux will remain a second tier choice that most regular consumers will avoid....
