This was released the year I started hormones and began presenting full time as the REAL me. So many dive bar adventures as a rural Floridian. Nothing has captured my life at just the right time like this did. Andrew Garfield did SO AMAZING representing trans people as a non trans person. Ty for everyone who was a part of making this

One of their best videoclips .. icluded the suburbs.. in my opinion, there are the works that realy cause the truth artisitic impact that brings emotion and cinematic, because I look at this, not like some a videoclip, everthing is perfect, the music, so fucking good music, alias I'm a fan of Reflecktor, but the syncronism of the muic with the scenes and the genial work and perfect performance of Andrew Garfield I have no words to describe. My apologies for my bad english. I know that are more diferent opinions describe here, but I'm just bring my feelings.

That transition to the concert with the instrumental. That is so bonkers. It's such an insane acoustic impression paired with the images.

I wrote a comment here a few days ago but it didn't really do justice to how I feel about this song. So below i have elaborated on what I had commented previously. I have played this song over and over for a couple of weeks now and I just can't get it out of my mind. Perhaps its my autism kicking in or something. Perhaps it is just a really awesome song that has a special meaning to me.

I have had this song on my playlist for about a year now. I had heard it before but it never grabbed my attention. I started transitioning back in September of 2023. I had added the song to my playlist amongst a bunch of other trans themed songs. I hadn't seen the music video though and although I liked the song it didn't really click with me. I went through an extremely difficult time last summer as i came to terms with ny trans identity. Had i watched this video at that time I would have ended up sobbing uncontrollably. The song has new meaning for me now. The video coordination with the song is epic and speaks to the struggle of transgender people.

But it speaks to me in particular. I recognize her expressions, being nervous, dressing in public, wanting to look sexy, being picked up by a guy for the first time. Those are things that happened to me. Although I was never beaten, I have come close to that from doing things like she did. Going to spaces where I might not be accepted and places that were dangerous. I remember going to a gay bath house once. I was excited to go. I got there in my private room I dressed up and left my door open as guys would walk past. I was on display for them. Things did happen and I felt awkward but really nervous and excited as she did dancing with that guy. But not all the guys liked what they saw and I was told in no uncertain terms by the staff and some patrons that I was not welcome there. The dancing really resonates with me as well. I tried dancing before in my life but it was always very procedural and had no flow. My body was not connected with the music. HRT has opened up ny emotional center in such a deep and profound way. so much so that I can now actually feel music for the first time in my life. So much so that I want to dance to it!

Her death felt like what could have happened to me. I uaed to think that dressing as a woman was illegal and that I would be arrested for doing so. This caused a huge amount of anxiety and trauma for me. My brave acts truly felt like they could end up in my death. But I had to do it anyway. That death scene also feels more like the death of ny past self as opposed to my experience with hate. The next scene where she is wearing a dress and heading to the stage also touches me. It reminds me of presenting femme in front of various people in my life for the first time. Kind of like a rebirth. This is a feeling that I have had and It feels absolutely amazing. In September 2024 now and a year into my transition, I am on the stage in my pretty white dress. I feel wonderful and so free!!!
