Devil May Cry 4's Platinum SCARRED ME FOR LIFE!

You can actually pause bloody palace and return later, you just can't do it in the middle of a fight, it can only be done at the point between levels. And you cannot play the main game otherwise it will overwrite your checkpoint. No worries!

For me the hardest thing is the bloody palace, their's too much bull shit enemies in them and for me i sucked at it I could only do dante because of his super costume, as for vergil I could but don't have his SC, and for NERO Lady and Trish their really hard because the bull shit enemies and blitzes(and honestly my causal playthrough i loved dmc4SE, honestly it's my favorite dmc game.)

Currently going for the full set of DMC plats and i started with the reboot. Nice to see someone besides me have nice things to say about that game. I've been on the fence as to which to plat last between 4 and 5 and yeah I'm thinking 4 might be last. so many BS enemies in the damn game.

I hated mission 4 with a living passion. Because of the blue fucking thingies.
I immediately left Nero to last, cuz i cant stand him.
Beat everything with Vergil and the lesbian power couple.
For some damn reason, the platforming and having enough patience for the stupidity of the game ... was the hardest thing.

I swear to god if they actually tried that shit in a game with 80% bullshit enemies where Dante wasn't meant to be playable originally, would've pissed me off beyond all measure.

perhaps it's games like this that spawned this one's love of AOE attacks in RPGs and beyond. Targeting the right enemy's far less of an issue when you hit everyone anyway

A little story
When I was young, I had a PC which could run this game with a little lag, I pirated devil may cry 4 and started playing it, I had no internet connection, we used to share games via a pendrive, I had limited options so I played this game non stop, finished the game in every difficulty, S ranking in every level, I was so low on options, I completed the bloody palace probably a 100 times because I had nothing to play, I got soooooo fucking good at it that i rarely took damage. Gooood fucking memories

Just came here to say I got the platinum trophy, and it wasn't as bad to get as you made it seem. That could be because I didn't use lady and trish to do everything, but hey that's just me. Although I will say trying to s rank some missions on dmd and doing bloody palace as trish were the hardest things for me to do in the game. 😁

I like getting hard Platinums, but I draw a line lol and as much as I like Devil May Cry I didn't bother with DMC 5 or DMC4 special edition. I did beat DMC5 on Dante Must Die though, that sucked lol

I just got DMC4's platinum a few days ago! And yeah, this game's plat is hell with some very, VERY annoying enemies especially on the higher difficulties.

Some tips on Mission 14. You can actually kill the guys that teleport you, and they stay dead unless you exit and re-enter the room. A single dropkick will kill them even on Dante Must Die if you're using Gilgamesh as Dante or Beowulf for Vergil. For Trish, she can kill them with a single Lunar Phase if it fully/mostly connects, so your timing has to be tighter than the other two. This takes them out of the equation if you start your fights by killing them. They even drop green orbs when they die so you get a bit of healing! What I did, was I intentionally let myself get swallowed by one to get into a fight with a bunch of enemies that didn't have Chimeras attached to them. Almost got 2000 style points out of that, and allowed me to get the S Rank on Dante Must Die mode, on my second attempt.

You can suspend on bloody Palace in DMC 5 but I think it's only once and you have to continue back from it or it's gone.

For the targeting system you had it set to the default which is targeting to whichever enemy you're pointing towards with the left stick. You can change the system to target either whatever is directly infront of your character or to target whatever is closest. So the targeting system thing was entirely a skill issue on your side lol

i remember i played dark 1 first time i quited it and after i finished dmc 4 i returned to dark souls 1 because I knew i was ready for it after this game 🤡( this is not a joke after dmc4 i found ds1 rather easy except some parts)

the guy who mentioned the bloody palace "quit out and save" was actually right, you can suspend your progress after finishing a floor, then go into your save file and make a backup of it, then whenever you die you close the game and put back in your save file from the suspended bloody palace and it will be back

sorry to be like the 5th person I've seen comment about the bloody palace asshole guy and to be a big ol nerd emoji about it but he was actually right because I abused that trick myself to get through Nero bloody palace 😅 sucks that the asshole was right lol

(also I have no clue if the trick works for consoles but I know for sure it works on PC because that's what I did it on)

This was the last game in the series that I earned the platinum for. I too can say that I have them all now, which is pretty rad. Even that reboot. Lol. DMC4 was probably the hardest, though. I found DMC4 WAY easier than DMC5 lmao. Just to see how people are different. About Mission 14, if you kill the blue things, they dont respawn, and you can fight without having to worry about them sucking you in. Tip for anyone tryin this.

I wish I was watching your stream because I could have made it 10 times easier for you . Most of your problems could be fixed by a little knowledge and practice and this game is really fun , also in my opinion it has the best enemies after dmc5

This game is just pure cancer when it comes to enemy design. I thought DMC3 had the worst but this one, this one is pure C

I actually love Trishs combat design in 4. Shes very fun to me. Lady is powerful but im really bad woth her cause im not used to her slower moves.

Very late to this video, but I'm hoping someone can help me with this. In the video, he talks about Lady being weaker/easier to kill, and hidden health values. I couldn't find anything about this when searching, and I'm very interested to know the other character's health values. If anyone can find a source, or just let me know the other health values if you know, I would be very grateful.
