WILDER IS MY STATESMAN…meaning I came from Alabama too! So I have love for the man! He is still my FAVORITE heavyweight but, it was not just the LAYOFF that hurt him in that fight. When I see footage of him training, he looks FANTASTIC! He throws his hooks perfectly, right hands perfectly, combinations look good, and he pivots perfectly as well. But when it comes down to the fight, all of what’s shown in preparation, is JUST NOT THERE. This is Wilder’s problem! He can’t or won’t transfer what he learned in training, to the actual fight! This must be corrected if he wants to regain the HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE.

Wilder is a power puncher so training him to box this late in his career is crazy to me. In my opinion, he needs to play to his strengths which are his power and his reach.

Learn a respectable jab, how to slip/ duck punches and footwork all to maintain and close distance then let him go to work.
