Also keep in mind that if you shop tax free, some stores will insist on stapling the receipt in your passport, with a stamp half over the receipt and half on the pages of your passport.
If this is procedure, they might be shocked if you tell them that this is not allowed with your passport. Passports from my country can't even be handed over to people that are not officials (customs/police), and no one is allowed to alter/perforate it at all, again, unless they are customs/police.....so a shop clerk stapling something through the pages would cause issues.
Do not try to explain this, it will cause discomfort to everyone....just opt out of tax free shopping....

Ответить@xtigerleelee tks for the tips. Hearing that almost everywhere in Japan big cities, there is free wifi, so you still considered a MUST to have an eSim or pocket WiFi?

ОтветитьInteresting to learn about tax-free shopping, if you are a non-resident visitor. I always bring an extra bag of some type when I travel, because yes you are going to buy things and it is nice to have that extra bag. Thanks for sharing the great helpful tips my friend. I hope you have a wonderful day! 😊👍
ОтветитьDo you recommend buying the eSIM the day of travel or weeks/month in advance?
Ответитьwait did you recommend buy the power bank AND wifi card in Japan or before you leave? What about JR pass, before or after?
ОтветитьWow! Very useful and helpful video, my dear friend! Thank you for explaining what we need to pack before traveling to Japan! Hello! Greetings again from 100tour KOREA! Stay in touch, my dear friend! See you! Have a great week!

ОтветитьThanks for sharing your expertise - this will definitely make packing for Japan a breeze!
ОтветитьNice vid....just sharing some of my experiences (i) I've been to Japan over 20 times and never got checked for tax-free purchases but I have heard that the Gov't is thinking of changing the system so that you only get the tax refund at the airport and (ii) suggest that people bring a medium-sized ziplock bag with you as there are very few bins around Japan. You need something to temporarily hold your trash until you spot a bin.
ОтветитьeSIMs are great, but your phone needs to be unlocked to use them. If you’re making payments on your phone your carrier will keep your phone locked. Pocket WiFi may be best in that situation.
