I think Rio breaking down at seeing all her belongings destroyed and not at the sight of all the dead bodies is meant to indicate that she was barely holding herself together as she saw everything go to hell around her and was hoping that her room would be a place of comfort. Seeing it torn down was the last straw for her and she snapped. It's something that happens to a lot of people in grief who can hold themselves together through harsh turmoil but break down at a seemingly innocuous thing that was the last straw that broke the camel's back so to say.
ОтветитьThe game gets insanely frustrating especially when she is very depleted of health from not listening to your commands properly but there's no other health items as well as nowhere to go except where an enemy is
So it was nice that beating a game of tongue twisters would actually give her more health, even tho it's very secret ahahah
Man imagine the game had a male character instead of a female then you would realize how trash it really is
ОтветитьA game like this would be interesting with generative ai
Ответитьyou have to speak in a japanese accent. duh
ОтветитьI wanted to play this but it’s not worth the headache
Ответить"The voice recognition is so bad"
the voice: "loaahktherightrightrightrightrightright" "please can you if you care go over to the leftmost locker to the left of you and read the pinned note that is pinned there"
all with a mic setting that has your voice sound like you're whispering
"Watch the Lifeline video."
"Leave the room? Okay!"
I remember watching a playthrough a few years ago of a VR game called The Last Labyrinth which had somewhat similar gameplay to this, but instead of voice commands it used eye tracking and yes/no head gestures to direct the girl (either because the girl was non-verbal or the player character was injured and could only move his eyes and head lol).
Ответить"She could have also said 'Merry Christmas ' or 'you truly were my life line' had me dyin
Ответитьomg the fact you showed 4PP video is just great!
ОтветитьI didn't even know this game existed, thanks!
ОтветитьIf Seaman was an action game 😂
ОтветитьQue buen video, muy interesante juego teniendo en cuenta la epoca en la que salió
ОтветитьLmao the tutorial part was funny
ОтветитьMy introduction to this game was watching Jerma play it and lose his mind. What an interesting game.
ОтветитьI bought this game when it first came out. I had a broken arm and the "you play with a headset" was an appeal at the time since my mom worked and went to school. It was frustrating but different.
seeing it now... I kind of wish it could get a remaster, graphics still look good but better voice commands, recognition and maybe have some five nights at freddies abilities added to the operator.
Someone should remake this game for current gen platforms lol
ОтветитьHerro
Praystation
i bought the game
i tho my English was bad until i told my friend who born n speak perfect English try it
He was like wtf i'm playing 🤣🤣🤣
You know, Lifeline is one of those games, and concepts, that I'm very surprised that Nintendo hasn't tried. Or perfected.
ОтветитьYooo I died laughing when you’re like “it’s not like all her pictures are missing” 😂 the contrast is very stark between someone being dead and her personal property having some slime on it.
ОтветитьThe true ‘she sells sea shells’ is as follows. Ahem. ‘She sells seashells by the sea shore, till they took her fuckin house and now she don’t no more’
ОтветитьI am obsessed! this looks so good! It's like she is alive! I hope they keep making this games, we now have crazy AI potential! Imagine a game where you play as a virtual asistance and you gotta look trough some metaphor of the internet!!
Ответитьdude how did you get it to work on pcsx2 1.7.0 i tried so hard and got shit nothing could you make an explanatory video
ОтветитьThis game would be quite doable today, at least technically speaking.
ОтветитьWhat happens if you say n?
ОтветитьI played this almost 20 years ago now on my PS2 with my brother on a demo disc! I still have the disc but omg was the tutorial and the first and only combat in the demo literal Hell. We turned it off back then and while we thought it was cool, we were like this sucks, we are literally yelling into the mic! 😂😂 Good times, I wanna buy this game though for nostalgia, it’s one of those games that was so unique and ahead of it’s time. However voice recognition like you discuss was not good and definitely fucking sucked haha 😂
ОтветитьHah. This is nothing. When I was a kid, I played “Hey You, Pikachu!” for hours.
Without the microphone.
With the rise of A.I and A.I companions, as well as better audio infrastructure I think a new game like this would do very well
ОтветитьWhy would an English version need to recognize Japanese Rs?
ОтветитьI remember seeing this on a really old game review show on TechTV (before it was G4, anyone remember Anime Unleashed at the wee hours of the morning?) that previewed upcoming games and such, but I could never remember the name. I thought it sounded really neat as a concept, but since I'd forgotten the name, I could never figure out how to find it, though I remembered snips of the episode that featured it. Now that I have a name to go with the game, maybe I'll see if I can't dig a copy up somewhere to add to my collection of weird and forgotten games. Thanks for putting a name to it after all these years!
ОтветитьWith more modern voice tech, a remake would seem pretty cool
ОтветитьI wish game devs would realize that this gimmicky stuff just doesn't work. The only exception I can think of is "Lair" with the SixAxis, but that took a LOT of getting used to.
ОтветитьYou should check out eXperience 112. A game where you're an operator I guess guiding a woman through an abandoned facility by watching her on CCTV cameras and enabling electrical devices in the area.
ОтветитьAbsolutely incredible
ОтветитьWho is Rio's jp VA ?
ОтветитьSo the game only understands engrish? Holy shit😂
ОтветитьI remember raiding on WOW and talking in Ventrilo, and we always knew when someone didn't have a headset.....echo...echo...echo....
Ответитьi had this game on the ps2 with no case i got it for like 3 dollars from a bargin bin at gamestop . i think the game works best with just single words not sentences
ОтветитьWhat a strange game. I suppose it's memorable more for its frustrating control scheme than anything else about it.
ОтветитьParasite eve cartoon
Ответитьhopefully with rise of the ai games like this will be more common in the future and more fun than frustrating
ОтветитьGood Job. Great video.
ОтветитьSHOOT IN HER MOUTH
ОтветитьA man telling a woman to do stuff. Immagine how kotaku would review it if it launched today....
"That game is a reflection on patriarchy"
