How To Fix Astro A50 Audio Problems (And Other Headsets Too)

I don’t have static I can hear people but I cannot hear my game

Mine have a buzzing/high pitch ringing noise coming from only the left driver constantly. Cannot for the life of me figure out how to get this to stop, if I even can. Hard reset doesn’t do anything and changing cables doesn’t seem to change anything. Xbox series x

These headsets are not terrible. Have had them for 2 years now with my fair share of bullshit issues. Memory foam on headband went bad, (not soft anymore, hurt head) the static issue, and short battery life. Extremely overpriced.

My Astro A50's started having static issues when I try streaming and playing music. Can anybody help me with this issue?!

These headset amazing but are truly a pain in the ass. They don’t tell you that headset needs to be place in its own space cause if it’s close to anything that uses 5G it’ll cut in & out.

Thank you so much for this, apparently it was my router. Shut my wifi off and the crackling went away so I went in and changed the channel as you suggested and it seems to be fixed but the weird part is I have had the headset for about a week now and my wifi channel was already set to a channel below the A50 range so why the interference all of a sudden? Very strange lol but thanks again.

I just updated my gen 4 a50s so they will work with my new Xbox series x and now every couple of minutes there’s a weird static ticking sound and it won’t go away! I’ve read it’s a pretty common issue after getting rid of the optical port. I’m really not happy and trying to figure it out because I don’t know if I want to keep the headset if it has this issue constantly. Some people might not be bothered by it but I’m very picky and don’t like owning products with issues.

Mine keeps beeping 3 times before turning off despite me charging them for hours, the light goes orange so I know it’s charging, any solutions ?

i found a better solution, next time i buy a new headset i’ll never consider astro, expensive and buggy, what’s the point

Another solution I found is if it has an aux cord plugged into it, take it out!

I have been with these headphones for 8 months and they emit a white noise of static, I also noticed that the audio decreases a lot. I was really excited about this expensive headphone but I was very disappointed and now I use it as a decoration... I tried to fix it but I don't know where the interference is from, I'm really sad. I should have bought better headphones.

Thank you for your assist! I actually have 2 headsets and 2 bases because i've had probs with these headsets since 1 month into owning them. My biggest issue is the firmware update most recently i could get 1 of the headsets to update but not the other the prob was the 1 i could update had horrble static issues your hard reset fixed it thank God as i've gone 2 days without headphones and i am a f/t charity twitch streamer no bueno again ty now if i could only get the other headset to update firmware i would be happy to have a back up so this doesnt happen again

Is anybody else going through the situation where you tried resetting your headset and it doesn’t make the beaming sound when you turn it on (in ear) and it is not responsive right away? And when I try to put it on my base station it will have that orange light on so that it’s charging but the white blinking lights on the base station keep moving around they don’t settle to one blinking to know that it’s charging… please help

Ps. Im on PS5 btw and my base station has been connected via usb to micro usb. It hasn’t had any issues till today. I’ve had it for 3 years or so

Hey I need help. My headset sounds great with a audio Jack plugged into the base but every sound coming from my Xbox sounds like the speakers are blown. Idk what to do to fix this because I’ve tried everything. Maybe it’s my optical cable? I’m not sure??

Yeah I have a different problem, my xbox and pc doesn't detect thr dock anymore. The main headphone still work but not the dock and it's driving me crazy.

So I’m issue is the voice/game buttons seem to be synced as one. When I turn the voice button all the way up.. there’s is 0 sound. When I turn the game all the way up, I can hear game and voice, but I can’t balance to two out like the buttons are designed to do.. I’ve messed with all the settings and everything, it worked for like a week and now it stopped working. It’s a brand new headset.. not sure what the problem is. Also I have a Wave 3 mic that I use for my stream, “I’m on PC” , but that shouldn’t affect anything. When I set the Warzone setting to voice in game, it turns my chat off completely and the mic symbol disappears next to my name.. ? Anyone can help please ?

Not sure if anyone has solved this issue or not, but has anyone been able to figure out the AUX issue? I know the issue I'm at least having seems to be solely located in the base station and some say it might be a grounding issue. Tried multiple auxiliary cables and multiple audio devices, but the issue seems to be located in the base station. I did see someone say to get a AUX ground loop noise canceller, but wasn't sure if that has worked for others.
