Managed investing (80%) and self-directed (20%) because I'm not super comfortable managing my own investments

Right now i have 100% managed accounts but I would like to try investing by myself. i feel like even with all the research that I did, I don't feel so confident on what to invest. based on the amount of money invested and the average expected 4% profit(?) from that mutual funds account, i don't feel like it is making enough money. i am not sure if i am expecting too much from investing in general

my main question is, do we get more profit from self investment?

I would like to see a video on self investment, like what to expect and how much more percent profit earned, if any? .

I’m 15 years old and I just set up a managed account with my bank. I like the idea of self directed, but as a full time hard working student, I see it as a challenge for my later years. I still want my money to grow, so I set up a managed account in a high risk tolerance account.

Hi Reni, found you recently and cheering you on with the new opportunity. Fellow Canadian here! I also recently watched your streams of income video. Which category would a managed mutual fund fall under? And is it different for fully managed mutual funds? Would you consider both or either Interest income? Capital gains? I've just always thought about both types of mutual funds (regular and fully managed) as "investment income" but not sure if it's interchangeable with another term.

Asking because I'm trying to think about my income sources with the terms you have outlined in your streams of income video but not sure where to map stuff.
