If anyone with zero experience with any fighting skills takes any type of Karate, boxing, wrestling etc.. and they trained very hard and very seriously with good trainers for 30 days - they will have a noticeably increase in skills to fight and defend themselves etc... its not rocket science - its training very hard and taking it seriously! and they probably won't get into any fights cuz they are trained to avoid fighting if at all possible as rule #1.

Dude well done man!!! You had an answer to everything that came your way. You reacted quickly and positively. Superb ability after only 30 days. Really want to learn this as well. It looks really practical and the streets is where the dangers are. 100 per cent sir keep with it.

I've been in a couple of street fights when younger, and, even when you win, you lose. I took a year of Krav Maga, but quit because the place where I took it was terrible. The ONE GOOD thing I can say was they did EMPHASIZE always avoiding a fight, if possible. As a combat veteran, however, I can truthfully say I consider Krav Maga to be the best self defense system for the average person who ends up in a street fight. Even with the lousy training I received, I still recognized what it could do for you. For example, there's no time in a street fight to 'set' your feet. The son of a friend is a taekwondo brown belt, who ended up in a bar fight. His comment after was, 'The other guy didn't give me a chance to get ready..." to which I responded, 'No shit'! Krav Maga gets bad press it doesn't deserve. I wish I had done my training at the place in this video -- I would have learned more in 30 days, than I did in a year here. Semper Fidelis! I've always felt like the dynamics of Krav Maga and the way you prepare for such unusual situations can legitimately help your brain prepare for the unexpected regardless of what style of fight you're in. I would still train Krav Maga if I was training for MMA because it will train for the unorthadox fighters as well. Add the knowledge of wrestling, BJJ and Muay Thai/Boxing with your instinctual Krav Maga training and I feel like you will have better defensive responses to various situations regardless of whether it's a competition or a street fight.

This is coming from someone who's only unfortunately observed the sport and never trained or competed so I would love to see for myself firsthand, but these skills I feel are invaluable.

ANY KM school that teaches fkin knife defenses on the FIRST day is by default a SH1T Krav Maga school !!!

There is SOO many other things that should be taught before knives even come to mind to the instructor for a newcomer.

No comment really.

Krav Maga has been made to teach basic self defense skills to untrained soldiers in a very short time. In this respect its fine, but it is not a sport (as you pointed out) as it has no rules. It does not make too much sense to keep people training for years. It becomes just a matter of money, then. We could consider it as a modern subset of the original Okinawan karate (not the current sports karate, which is a sport and not a self defense system). Original (not the so called "traditional") karate was a short distance, no rules, self defense system, with very nasty techniques. Clearly, it takes much longer to learn, but in our current lifestyle we want everything in one hour, no patience. Honestly, your final test did not mean that much: in a real fight situation you would have been dead in less than ten seconds

You don't have to try Krav Maga, IDF recruits "try" Krav Maga every day at the basic training. All IDF soldiers are taught how to defend themselves from abductions, stabbing attempts and other types of attack. So yeah, after 30 days, you are more than capable to defend yourself. That is why, Krav Maga is a simple and straightforward system that is easy to teach and learn. Krav Maga was a part of my basic training and I have been instructor for around 20 years, but I don't teach anymore. From this video I can see some capable Krav Maga trainers.

The years I trained KM was always bruising and once in a while, some blood. Best training I ever had. Training always for muscle memory and instinctive reflexes. Some students even passed out on graduations for being pushed so far beyond their limit. Very good community and trainers, Very positive experience to have been through. Would recommend for everyone even slightly interessted.

I Learned both Krav Maga AND Boxing (classical boxing, not mui thai).
And I assure you, boxing is 100% more effective in everything. Why?
Krav Maga is too complicated. You won't be able to pull off these moves vs a fully resisting opponent, 100%.
Myabe if you've trained Krav Maga for over 15 years, then only MAYBE.
Most fights end in under 30 seconds.
What's the best martial art? It's an "art", so it doesn't matter.
What's best for self defense? MMA (boxing & BJJ) and REAL OLD SCHOOL KARATE WITH GRAPPLING.

Sorry, but none of these guys look trained or dangerous. I don't see anyone I couldn't KO in 15 seconds. In a real life situation, the most sensible manner to react to someone drawing a knife, is to get away. If your KM instincts kick in, you will start fighting under stress instead of getting away, and such training may get you killed. If you can't get away, however, it may save your life.

you need to spar mate like real sparring start with unarmed sparring than switch to knife sparring i assume you have been taught some basics of knife fighting than after a few rounds grab a stick and do some stick sparring after all this you will know if you can put those skills to use drills or simulated attacks can only get you so far

The thing about "real" fights is that people DO NOT fight fair ones. 2 on 1. 3 on 1. 5 on 1. (You are the "1" in all these scenarios.) As much as I respect BJJ and wrestling, going to the ground seems like a recipe for disaster. Again, evil people DO NOT fight fair ones.

A lot of moves in Krav Maga are legal in MMA, and yet, fighters in the octagon do not use them. Why not? Because there are other moves available that are more efficient. One of the Krav Maga moves I learned from a course in Udemy, was that you push or pull a person from the shoulder so that you get behind the enemy, then you apply a rear naked choke. What? Are you serious? First of all you are not going to be able to apply this to anybody, and second, if you do, they can escape very easily because you are not on the ground and you are not apply ing hooks with your legs. Krav Maga is fooling everybody. So long they keep saying, “it is too lethal, and this is why it can never be tested in the form of a sport”, the practitioner will always have to make the leap of faith that it works. In reality some technics in Krav Maga work, but these are less than 50%, otherwise we would see the once that are legal more often in MMA.

Another dumb technique is to always close the distance without teaching you more about grappling. If you do this against a person who knows any takedown techniques, you are done. That person is going to take you down and beat the crap out of you.

The only hope we have to put an end to this fake martial art is to have a real illegal fight with a real MMA fighter vs a real Krav Maga fighter, and record it. No rules, just a real fight to prove Krav Maga is a joke.

Also, the knife techniques don’t work. You’ll get stubbed before you take the persons knife away.
