Non workers must be British - always moaning ppl living on benefits in council houses
ОтветитьSpeak english, please
ОтветитьMack is too kind in his review. This will be a 6/10 with 1 more negative point: cant fire the twats out the airlock
ОтветитьHave you ever played Elite Dangerous and wonder how life is like being the station manager? I just wish I can fly my Cobra out of the station and explore the system.
ОтветитьGreat review.
Yeah, there should be automation, punishment, enemies, and reasons for problems.
When games make you click on every worker to make them do the next thing, it's just bad programing.
I've not written here before but wanted to let you know. I always come here before I get out my wallet on something I'm not sure about. You are the most honest reviewer about, and of course, games are subjective to what you will enjoy and theres stuff you like I dont. But you do have excellent coverage of the pros and cons of each game, and show you spent plenty of time looking into it all. You do a great service to the gaming community Mac. Thank you.
ОтветитьSuch good balanced and honest reviews, great job, cheers!
Ответитьno one better in the game than mackers
ОтветитьInteresting to just randomly stumble over this game, see everyone's complaints and then see that in 2 days there will be a patch that will (or seems to) fix all the gripes people have. Might be a buy next week then :)
ОтветитьI dont get why soooo many games are OBSESSED with punishing you aaall the time with absurdly tedious stuff. "Oh you spent an hour gathering this stuff? Oh no you died to a lagspike, we'll remove half, thank you." There's so many games i've seen, like this, which seems really appealing, but i just want to experience the story and everything. I have more than enough money, but so limited free time, so why do i have to deal with such bullshit? Just let me by your damn game and let me turn that shit off so i can experience it. It's so dumb.
ОтветитьHis voice is close to Jim Browning's voice :) im like wow
ОтветитьThis review was honest and made me laugh out loud several times.
ОтветитьThe probe thing reminds me of Mass Effect :-)
ОтветитьBut at the beginning of the game you'll just be eating ze bu- Man stop sayin that
...y-you are eating ze bugs.
Anyone know what language he's speaking? Looks like a decent review channel though!
ОтветитьNo, I won't touch it. Thanks.
Ответитьthey carnt learn,,life on the dole
ОтветитьYou had me chuckling away with "we're not going to heal the hull anymore we are all on ***** strike", brilliant!
ОтветитьEAT ZE BUGSS!!!
ОтветитьMeanwhile I am waiting for the Expanse to finally continue, the best sci-fi series ever made imho.
ОтветитьYeah, I refunded it. One of the most depressing games I have played in a long time.
ОтветитьWow ixiom managed to rip off mass effect with the whole resource collection bit. Almost to a T. Wow.
ОтветитьActually people have had personal differences and other things on space missions even on the ISS, and on simulated Mars missions I believe one of them had to be cancelled because of incompatible crew. It can happen and humans are irrational beings.
ОтветитьHad a lot of fun with the game, but oh boy did i hate some of the quirks. The first couple chapters feel incredibly hard, while the last few are almost a cakewalk. Mostly because you figure out the mechanics on your own when you make it this far. The game explains very little, which is great because it doesn't hold you hand and makes you actually feel like you are exploring uncharted territory. But on the other hand does not teach you some cruicial things. Like how absolutly essential it is to have a sector dedicated to repair as the bonus from the sector specialization makes a night-and-day difference. Same with waste recycling or some sub-researches like the automated repair of hull breaches.
ОтветитьTurn your mic up a bit :D
Ответитьsurprised you thumbed this one up.
It's a resource hunting game without any support tools so you are manually scannignthe system like someone playing a classic point n click, pixel by pixel (you can't even spot planets without sending a probe to them).
it's a city management game that seeminly has almost no management aspect.
it's an explotation game that gets angry when you hand around to explore, and worse will actively drain resources because your ship can't handle the stresses of it's own engineds, or internal sectors (if it's manned then it's actively trying to sudoku itself into the void unless you are actively maintaining the hull at all times)
worst of all it's a story game where ever character is seemingly an utter cretin, your pop will constantly get into accidents or commit arson on random facilities every 5 mins, you have to research how to get outside he station you were magically (teleported?) placed within, the usable space in the ship i laughably 2d with a transport system between the internal walls that makes zero sense plus for some reason every "new" area you open up comes with a complimentary favela for you to deconstruct for materials but every area also requites it's own stockpile for every resource it may use throughout the game, you can only ship from stiockpile to stockpile between station sectors
Who would you go on strike when going on strike would mean you all starve..?
Seems an odd thing for a Northerner to say 😉
But actually yes, while the game is wonderful and well conceived, I feel they needed a second draft to make the story elements and the in-game mechanics and consequences make more sense.
Why you can't train workers - or for example have "non workers" do the jobs, but means they're more likely to cause accidents or injuries...? Like in Frostpunk using children to do jobs
urn the non workers into Soylent Green. Thanks for the review - was curious.
ОтветитьMerry Christmas and stuff.
ОтветитьThe game mechanics to do with the hull seem so contrived and just all over the place. Maybe it's Jiminy Cricket tampering with the hull, for farming and eating all his buddies 😆😝
ОтветитьI've been playing this for days and addicted to it. That was until my problem with my computer I have been having had gotten worse! It restarts whenever the computer is doing anything complex. But most of my games are fine to play without auto restarting. Ixion was working great, but now my PC restarts most of the time when I try to play this game! I'm half way through it and it's killing me not being able to play it!!
I'm hoping to fix my PC in the next few days, but nothing has worked so far! :(
Its sounds nice & deep!
Ответить“Who would go on strike when it means people are going to die?”
UK Nurses 👀
ive played like 20 hours its very brutal which is fine BUT it needs different paths bit boring plus cargo ships reallly needs to hold slightly more and the balance is bad
ОтветитьSo half of the society does the work while the other half just eats up the resources and keeps complaining all the time?
That is completely realistic in my eyes.
And if you think that people won't go on protests to achieve things that will mean their own extinction in the long run - have a look at Germany to get an idea.
I have ZERO interest in some of the games Mack reviews but that doesn't stop me from watching. Always entertaining
ОтветитьWhat do you know yet another crafting grinding game. I swear it’s all devs know what to do now.
Ответить"Who would strike when striking will have you starve"
Welcome to the South African mindset. People burn down their clinics here to strike the bad service they get at the clinics.
Mack - PLEASE do a video about Against the Storm. Could've sworn you did a video on it, but now it's on Steam, and I'm having a blast. I'd love to hear what you think!
ОтветитьWorth a builder is baaaack!
ОтветитьFrostpunk in space?
ОтветитьDo note that you the game is the same price on Greenman as it is on Steam, cause on both sites it's 31,49, however buying it on Greenman helps Mack, so still buy it there guys :)
ОтветитьSounds like Musk got rid of his rightwing losers on the way to Mars and beyond in those cryopods.
Yes, the strikes are pure moron idiots sealing the whole lots fate.
Out of the airlock they go when someone makes a mod.
So I finished Ixion yesterday
And on the whole it was an enjoyable experience and the mechanics are really decent, however ever since sector 3 I pretty much had no reason to expand into further sectors other than the desire to complete the station and the biggest difficulty hump was when the game forced me to take on 2000 people out of the blue.
I still got hooked into the game and would like to see more complexity added.
There are some other issues as well. You only get enough science to research T2 and T3 budings very late into the game and thus there is no need for superspecialised sectors (basically you only can try to specialise a sector to T2 at the end of the game due to space constraints) and I can only see me replaying the game when I add a custom objective like "Collect every cryopod you can" or "try to reach the end only with one sector active" etc..
Amazing another city builder how refreshing...
ОтветитьThe crew will prefere to starve and protest than work to get this better.
This reeks either of propaganda or devs who never faced a day of hardship in their lives.
I was really pumped for this but I'll stick to rimworld w/mods
