Ответить2023 and I still come back to this video every 3 months. Been that way since 2012!
ОтветитьExcellent!
ОтветитьWhen dude dropped the DnB that's when I knew this was the one for me!
Ответитьthanks brother so simply done. without normailzation to. im gonna go a little further and select tracks in mix that need bring up a little with amplify. great vid
ОтветитьVery helpful thanks! I was wondering if the same techniques applies when the file is an mp3 in the first place? Thanks in advance
ОтветитьBy Audacity terms, I'm a one year old. This video was very helpful!
Thank you 🙏🏽
hey great video but can anybody here explain the significance of the hard limiter in this process? what if a limiter is already being used on your mixer and or djing software? when i record currently i use traktor pro 3 audio recorder with gain set at -3dB and the master output as well a channel gains set @ 0dB. also i find I'm loosing a lot of quality whenever i make recordings of recordings. is the limiter actually removing information/dynamics by the doing this bc the files seems to sound more and more "compressed" the more times it's re-recorded
Ответитьhello kitty
ОтветитьThis sounds just awful. Shaving those peaks off is sonic death. It IS distorting. Like crazy. I don't know how anybody cant hear it.
ОтветитьGreat info. Well explained. Thank you
ОтветитьThis gives me red lines when I do it, everything is pushing up to 0db
ОтветитьBest video so far for me...really got down to basics and made it simple...however, I'll give it a shot this morning and see what happens...you mentioned " changing the Bass or Treble"...what do I click on to get that feature? Maybe I'll find it but for now that was the only thing I didn't get...again, thanks....rc
ОтветитьBest video on this topic I have seen - many thanks :)
ОтветитьThanks for posting this. Despite it being nearly 10 years old it has just helped me boost the volume of some music my wife uses for her ringtone! She'd been finding it to be too quiet even though it was peaking at 0dB. Thanks to you, and to some judicious use of Audacity's hard limiter, it is now much more audible for her. Good job viperfrank! Also, I do like your presentational style. Informal but to-the-point without too much faffing about. Kudos! 👍😎👍
ОтветитьThanks Mate!
ОтветитьHere I am watching this 10yrs later in 2020
ОтветитьtHANKS BRO
ОтветитьThabk you very mutch for this video. Now the topic is come around:)

ОтветитьNice couch lol.... good video though, very useful tips
ОтветитьThnkx MaN
ОтветитьI wanna deampify thy light blue colour in the center. Please help me. And other things should remain the same.
Or, maybe if you can help me amplify the dark blue part (without amplifying the center light blue part)
Great video. Cant I just use the compression tool to do this?
ОтветитьTop video man - helped me out alot. Its slightly different on todays audacity but I was still able to get the job done thanks to your advice. NICE ONE!!
ОтветитьThanks For The Help Really Needed This

ОтветитьFair play that sofa is ruff
ОтветитьThanks
Ответитьthe best video on the internet.
ОтветитьSince this tutorial Audacity has been updated a number of times, at present (Feb/2020) it's at version 2.3.3. I found the floating audio toolbar mentioned in the tutorial is now referred to as the "Recording Meter Tool bar" under the same sub menu VIEW and if the box iis optioned with a check mark , then it's just a matter of left clicking the left edge ( look for a strip with small horizontal lines) and dragging it to the desired location in the working area. Along with Audacity updates you'll also find if your using the windows platform, Windows 10 is now blocking Audacity from using the microphone, on the basis of privacy settings. Microsoft recommends that you need to enable the microphone in your Privacy settings using these steps: Open Settings on your computer;
1 Click on Privacy
2 Click on Microphone
3 Turn on the Allow apps to access your microphone toggle switch.
A big thank you to the wonderful people who provided this free program AUDACITY for all to use. : o )
Thanks for the vid!....i've added this to my list of techniques... I mainly use it for quick turn over demos after a rough take and mix.......I believe most of the time during the "take" is where dynamic range is captured, that is, if you have a plan on where you're going with the track; then some slight limiting and overall amplification can sweeten your track nicely.....i've gotten some nice results.......I played a Vocal/Guitar track to a Grammy Nominated Producer I am acquainted with, and I used this method to boost the track (on audacity even though I mainly use Logic Pro X); he loved the song and thought it was captured beautifully, which goes back to my point that if you record and mix with a plan you will add dynamics where necessary.
Ответитьthat song was rubbish---- kidding kidding kidding
😃😄😄just joking
What exactly is the difference between amplifying and normalizing? and what exactly would compression do? If I understand correctly, where normalizing loudens anything equally, compression just "raises the floor" without "raising the ceiling", so to speak... from what it looks like, amplifying and normalizing are the same thing? also, wouldn't it be better to normalize to -0.3 dB and compress it a little? I have also heard that EQing is used when mastering? where does that come in? I always thought, mastering involves limiter, EQ, compression and maybe stereo-imaging.
ОтветитьHello ViperFrank! Great videos. Can you link a video or describe the process of rhythm/beat editing that results one mix, where the tracks have same rhythm, same beat as harmonized result. Many thanks
ОтветитьLol southerners dropping their 't's🙄👍👍
ОтветитьThat's awesome! Your at your grandmamas!
ОтветитьStill refer back to this 9 years later
ОтветитьI use audio 6 to record my mixs... When I use external recording using time code my mixs are recorded and the wavs work on all of my devices eg phones and stuff... When. Use real vinyl and record the wavs don't work on my phone or windows media...
Why is that.... I record for an hr so I don't think its the file size...
Good video but good God what the fuck was the song you mixed it sounds like Sonic the hedgehog on fucking acid
ОтветитьThank you!!
ОтветитьThank you ! :)
