Sony A7S III vs EOS R5 - Are Canon Colors REALLY Better?

I don't want to do an Easter Egg hunt to figure out which image comes from which camera.
The whole "Camera A" and "Camera B" thing feels like a cheap trick to make viewers skip around trying to figure out which is which.

Canon beats the shit out of Sony in every picture and I've guessed which camera is which without you revealing it. Sorry mate, your subjective result is wrong for me, Canon is far better. Sony's not only colors are worse, it is going greenish in some pictures and contrast is worse than Canon.

Sony colors look horrible the sky is blue not green or white and about the flickering omg! Sony tends to look more green

Funny I picked A every time and thought was going to be a mix. B always was a bit green wasn’t terrible and I remember thinking it’s an easy fix and they are both amazing but I picked the canon every time.

I bought into the canon colors hype but I like the sony look better. Whenever I grey card I don't seem to have to change the skin tones unless the flash is mixed with continuous light or if my settings aint right

I’m a Sony fanboy and the canon looked better. But the new Sonys look much better. I’m still not switching to canon though. Their bodies may be a good deal but their lenses are expensive and they have zero 3rd party options. Funny thing is I have never had any color cast issues on my Sony a7iv. I don’t think this plagues new Sonys.

I am not a professional photographer. I am more of an enthusiast and I enjoy creating pictures and videos. I have a Sony 4K handycam. I love the autofocus and its ease of use. It is simply the best for my video requirements, sort of run-and-gun situations mostly. But I don't like the way sony tweaks the sky colors so horribly at times. I lost a beautiful dusk and several bright blue skies. I am not a pro at color grading and with my basic skills, I couldn't bring those actual colors even after color grading in Da Vinci Resolve. But I still love my handycam as I mostly shoot nature, wildlife, my journeys; I don't shoot people. But the story is totally different for my pictures. I primarily take pictures of people I love. I have a Canon DLSR. that coupled with a simple 50mm lens is so amazing for people. Their skin colors are so real and natural. Even for landscapes, it is so easy to get the right real colors in Lightroom. The moment I saw your 1st sample, I knew B is Sony just looking at sky color. even in the later waterfall, sky color is unnatural, a bit purplish. Also, I could quickly recognize the Canon's waterfall picture; so similar to several of the waterfall pictures I had taken with my Canon DSLR. For my video requirement, I need fast focusing for videos and I don't shoot people, so Sony for videos. For pictures, I shoot adults who behave a bit predictably unlike pets and children, and I need more natural colors, so Canon. However, I did notice that in some cases, Sony seems to have more details in highlights and shadows. So I think, Sony is immensely great for those who need a lot of details in shadows and highlights. Thanks a ton!!

I have a Sony A7s3. And went for the Canon nearly every time. Less of a a green tint (genuinely making me thinking of switching)

Well, to answer your question, yes! Canon wins by far... sky colors skin tones! The green color shift from the sony in some clips is awefull!

Surprisingly, got 100% correct and preferred Canon's color science. Kudos to Canon I guess.

I was quite surprised since I use the sony myself and I was completely wrong which one was which. Nevertheless I liked the Sony pictures over the Canon ones so I guess it's good for me.

well doesnt red have this grenish tint also, its like typical netflix look. And if you compare sony to canon, its like comparing green tint to magenta tint, like choosing between aids and cancer

Issue i have with the canon is how they add extra white to the skin almost giving it a edited look with a almost unnatural bump in skin exposure. Yes the skin pops more but it just doesn't belong in the image

1 Set of Videos the second Clip I Think A and B are Changed on A you can see the typical sony green tint. Or maybe the Whitebalance is realy messed up XD

i think its a bit easy to identify the moment it was tested in lowlight situations. the canon colour maintains in lowlight but its a bit darker
