GTX 1070 SLI Vs TITAN X (PASCAL)

Okay so I need to know where the great music is coming from.

isnt the i7 6700k a 16 lane CPU? and each graphics card can and should use 16 lanes? so why no x99 chipset?

So 2 gtx 1070s cost around half the price of a titan X pascal, and they have around the same, and sometimes even more performance than the titan x?

I was able to get 2 STRIX 1070 08Gs for $700, which was less than my $725 STRIX 1080 08G. I'm glad I didn't SLI the 1080s because that would have been a waste of money. 2x1070s>TITANXP? Well in most cases and for half the cost. Shazam, I feel really good right now.

I got stuck because I bought an Asus Strix OC 1070 out of the gate. Then when I decided to do SLI, I couldn't justify ditching the 1070 - it's too good and costs in the mid $400 usa range - so I was forced to do 1070 SLI. But I am glad I did because for +$900 GTX 1070 completely rocks above and beyond what anyone should need...I am so glad I ended up SLI'ing 1070s instead of 1080s because it costed $400 less than 1080 SLI and still rocks!

I already have a 1070. next time I have enough money, I know to buy another one. (I was initially gonna buy a 1080 but looking at these stats, it just ain't the right choice)

I have a very similar rig, same GPUS and CPU but slightly different results in a couple games. I never go below 60 in Dragon Age inquisition at 4k max settings. Also Fallout 4's own engine limitations tend to skew things a bit. I don't think the best hardware from 2020 or later could ever fix the underlying stability issues with shadows and urban areas. I personally do not recommend turning all the settings to ultra in that game. Anyways, there are only a couple games that outright do not work in SLI for me se far.
