I drive my moded car around because there isnt one like mine and I always get complements when I drive it

Modifying cars has make me happy for decades. I don't want my car look like everyone else. At 46 years old I'm still going strong. And when that time comes my son will continue this wonderful car tradition.

Why do we like to drive modified cars? Because on AVERAGE you’re going to spend 4 YEARS of your life driving a car. Car guys even more so. You might as well make that car the exact thing you want it to be.

I like the challenge of learning how to modify my car.
Figuring out how to get a desired result, and putting my learned skills to work on my friend's cars as well.
Testing out new tech, and learning how to get professional results with supplies from the scrap bin.
My knuckles may be scraped, and I've likely peeled back a cuticle or two, but it was fun, and a good learning experience.
The feeling of seeing something you've built come to life is like no other.

I don't even get friends to help me build it, i build it myself and almost always alone.. also, i don't get to race it around very often because the only race we get is once a year in the summer, and you basically have to sign up for the race two months before because its packed, and in my class i have about 50 other cars

I think 95% of us do it for looks an speed. What is the point of 1000hp when your car looks hurt, we not racing every stop light. Even when doing sleeper status it'll usually be clean, ratrod status is a demand to look at cuz how beat up it is, but it forces u to look at it an be like "yeahhhhh I saw what u did" I'm not full of myself but my co worker drives a late BMW 528 xdrive an my MK4 vr6 Jetta turn WAYYYY more heads than his BMW cuz I caught a proper look for my ride

Love the couch and the simple satisfaction of seeing mods installed/all come together when you’re “done” with your build. We all know it’s never really done though. Breaking necks is also a plus 🤷🏽‍♂️

We modify because OEM doesn’t give us what we want

its hard to explain "WHY" to a non-car person... especially since half the time we gearheads cant even give a good answer to this question ourselves... my usual response is simply, "if i have to explain it, u wouldnt understand" ...& ill just say, i got blesed 6 years ago with a wife that "gets it" ...one ride in my 71 chevy & no explanation nessesacary ...im a lucky man ...god bless yall & stay safe

I felt that “illogical explanation”... m ya wife thought it was “illogical” to get an aftermarket driver seat and steering wheel... so I never told her the driver air bags are non existent.

I daily drive a 2010 Nissan Tiida (Versa) hatch that's had some modifications made like wheels, tyres (suspension soon haha), exhaust, intake, etc.
No powerhouse but it's a great daily driver car and it's fun revving it out for the power especially when i hit 3000RPM+ and it goes pretty alright considering how light and nimble the car is.
I've had people come up to me and were impressed, someone thought it was engine swapped for some V6 lol.
You can still have fun in a modified "shopping trolley", no need for a modified sports car.
