Wow. I saw this in the 1970s and if you had asked I'd swear blind this movie was shot in colour.
ОтветитьThat’s pronounced rap-peeds (Rapides parish ) Louisiana ..we pronounce things either as spoken French or broken coonass language here in Louisiana thank you
ОтветитьExcellent biopic - loved this film, watched it when it first came out.
ОтветитьC.L.U Goolagger? It's Clu (pronounced clue) Gallagher ffs.
ОтветитьGood movie I saw it on tv a couple times never saw her nude …
ОтветитьLast picture show actually just showed reality of youth in the early 60's, and like now, there are some folks who just don't like that, the prefer their fake reality over this fake reality and don't realize, they never do, that their raising hell about nothing makes it something and takes everything in a direction they never intended. You know stupid people causing stupidity...
ОтветитьWhat is with all the stupid dots floating all the place? Unwatchable
ОтветитьFor Godsake. Drone, drone, drone, drone, drone. This voice-over bloke should get a different job 😩
ОтветитьI've seen both versions and I must say I prefer the uncensored version.
ОтветитьKimberly Hyde was much , much nuder than Cybill in this movie.
ОтветитьMeanwhile, over on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, 1971 saw the release and banning of TWO other films that caused REAL controversy: Clockwork Orange and Straw Dogs.
Ironically, both were by American directors: Stanley Kubrick and Sam Peckinpah respectively.
Why do you keep calling it a show? it's a movie.
ОтветитьAttention to period detail went out the window during that football game crowd scene, which ruined the movie for me.
ОтветитьWhat AI-generated nonsense is this? Can't even get the title of the movie right.
Ответитьclickbait
ОтветитьIt never really was banned, I remember seeing it on cable in full 2 years later. local TV stations cut it up to make it expectable
Ответить“The enigmatic C.L.U. Goo-lager”?!
WTAF?!
It probably wasn't Cybill Shepherd's nakedness that disturbed people back then. It was the full frontal shot of Randy Quaid that made them uncomfortable.
ОтветитьLoved the movie, definitely left a lasting, haunting impression on me at 17 when I first saw it, the B&W definitely enhanced the effect of it. I thought Cybil Shepherd was absolutely stunning, that hasn't changed.
Ответитьthe Pool Scene Banned was not banned at all but was a very boring scene as is Shephard and this movie.
ОтветитьUh, 14. Sorry to mislead you, that also apparently there was a 32 year old woman that they used as a double, not confirmed, for all of the nude scenes in the blue lagoon, but portraying a 14 year old on film as committing a sexual act is still haneously disgusting as an idea. Although like most pigs (teenager at the time, I got a rager just the same and i talked about it with glee around my buddies and a few classmates) kids are IDIOTS!
ОтветитьAnd nobody said a word (except teenage boys) when Brooke shields was coerced into doing nude scenes and sex scene on film when she was under 18. If i remember correctly she was 15 at the time, hopefully i can figure out hoy to get back to you on that after i research it.
ОтветитьSal Minayo! Is that like "Give me a cheeseburger and hold the minayo"? 😅
ОтветитьCould you turn of the sparkle stuff after a while? It's annoying and disrespectful for a cinema channel, especially. Maybe for disco...
ОтветитьJeezuz H Kryst, this is foolish.
ОтветитьHolly guacamole Batman.....Cybil Shepherd was a real dish !!!! She had that mysterious quality that can
bring any red blooded man to his knees !!! She was also in The Heartbreak Kid with Charles Grodin ........
C-L-U Goologgger? Is this an AI voice, or what?
ОтветитьAnd it's a FILM not a "show", and the great Larry McMurtry was about as "enigmatic" as Conan O'Brien.
ОтветитьLot of artsy fartsy whoop de do and NO what we all came to see, big yawn click bait.
ОтветитьLoved her in "The Heartbreak Kid" Too. All us Jewish Boys lusting after our Gentile Goddess-LOL.
ОтветитьWhat a capitvating, enigmatic, timeless, cinematic, mesmerizing, brilliant, captivating, enchanting video!
ОтветитьLoved the film and the sequel as well.
ОтветитьThere aren't enough adjectives to do this movie justice, but the narrarator sure did try. Great cast!
ОтветитьAs a young man I had the hots for Cybill Shepherd after seeing her in The Heartbreak Kid.
ОтветитьWho is the narrator?
--
isnt that Timothy Bottoms and not Randy Quaid?
ОтветитьSuper movie, real life and in your face. So realistic. You censored out the the pool scene. I was the old guy when it came out, 21, with 18 year olds who promptly packed up and left when Cybill popper her top. They left. I stayed and they came back later and got me after it was over. They would have had to drag me out as I had payed my 50 cents. The move was too good to leave. What a cast. None better.
ОтветитьRandy Quaid? Try Timothy Bottoms.
ОтветитьLose the swarm of stars, dots, whatever...
ОтветитьThe high watermark of Cybill's very average career.
ОтветитьWell I didn't care for this boring and senseless movie. And as for as 'iconic'......Phoebe cates in 'Ridgemont High' was FAR superior.
ОтветитьRemember the iconic show—"The Last Picture?" Um... no. It was a movie called "The Last Picture Show." AI is ruining everything.
Ответить...I saw that movie at the post theater in Illesheim, Germany - if I was a civilian I prolly wouldn't gone to watch it...
ОтветитьI never really saw this movie, only the nude scene showed up on the net and I can see why people love Cybill more than her acting.
ОтветитьThese days it wouldn't be controversial at all....
ОтветитьAnd now we got a pedo in the White House. So go easy on the fundies. There are worse things.
Ответить
