I don't understand all the AMD driver issues. I'm thinking these are mostly power stability problems on high power cards. I have a base RX 6400 and 0 issues. I NEVER have crashes. Never just upgrade drivers. Uninstall the old, delete the software folders and install fresh. This ensures you're not mixing old and new software that may have conflicts.

I had AMD Excalibur card from 2002 so statement about AMD doing dedicated graphics since 2006 is wrong

I had just finished building my very first PC back in 2003 or something (I was in high school) and my best friend came over for the boot up. Windows was finishing an update and he was checking out my “cool” surge protector, which had the power button on the side. He hit that power button and bricked the computer. I had no idea how to resolve this issue at the time and brought the whole tower in to my computer teacher the next morning. We fixed it after school and my best friend was never allowed near surge protectors again.

Needless to say, my number 1 rule is to never interrupt a Windows update. I’m pretty confident Windows can handle it in most cases now, but I still ain’t doin’ it. Nope.

Nvidia and intel has never done me wrong. EVER! No to mention much less current draw for same performance.

It's insane i've been having the usb disconnect for months and couldn't figure it out, I was most sure was something about the mouse cable but it turns out i found out in this completely random video i just decided to watch, so thanks i guess

pc is stupid. i unplugged one of my empty ssd's. windows didnt find boot drive. even though my os was on my m.2, so i plugged the ssd in again. windows went to full recovery mode failing every time. so me and a friend got a usb to reinstall OS, took 4 hours and about 15 os install trys when it finally worked.

I hate amd gpu drivers because its keeps uninstalling its self

this situation is similar to what happened to me recently when i switched to a amd gpu

Have had nothing but goodness with NVIDIA since the 10 series. Have also used many AMD cards and all were great until I got a 5700 xt, sent it back because It was a piece of crap and got a 2060 super. Now have a 3070 ti. Works good, but like a hot potato. I'm never buying AMD GPU again. AMD lost me, unreliable, but the cpu's are great!

And then there’s me, who just bought a used rtx 3060 ti from eBay, but I only spent $280 so I’m not complaining

I came across a problem that for some reason the server boards Supermicro H12SSL 7763 percent, the EXTERNAL video card does not turn on, (I don’t know about your video) they rewrote the BIOS, and they couldn’t find why. We tried two AMD RX 7900XTX video cards, the video signal appeared several times. But when you reboot the PC, the board is immediately transferred to the internal video card. Maybe super micro specifically blocks cards from AMD. We also first tried with a GIGABYTE motherboard and the same thing. That is, it turns out that anyone who wants to build such a PC with AMD cards will not work!!! You will only need to buy NVIDEO, and it is not a fact that it will work with everyone.

personally i wouldnt recommend a amd card rn my display ports dont work and the software brings nothing but lag this is from only 3 years of use i dont know about nvidia cards and how long they will last what is why ima just get a 3060 12gb

Been using an amd only build for 4 years almost. Got a new rx6650xt last week. An absolute beast and a lot cheaper then nvidia.

Reminds me of trying to fix a friend's pc at a LAN

@LinusTechTips May as well turn it into 1 year challenge at this point and wait another 6 months, i know you are not defending AMD when they do horrible stuff or have driver issues, cos i see you bring it up sometimes when reviewing their products, just a shame the part 2 is taking so long, hope it will be worth the wait.
