How do you space out frames???

I am experiencing, a laggy timeline when I animate using Photoshop. It's not the hardware issue, its just with the photoshop timeline. Why is it so?

I do have one question, though. The only thing I'm struggling with is that when I make new layers, I KEEP ON accidentally making them normal layers instead of video layers! I just finished coloring in a hUGE detailed bit and then realized - ohno - it wasn't a video layer. Is there any way to convert normal layers to video layers?! Cuz if not, I think about 50% of my animation work just went down the drain 😂🥲
