AWESOME!! Running VMware ESXi 7 on a Mac Mini [Host setup guide]

i have a mac mini late 2012 with esxi 7.03 and want to connect my apple thunderbolt to gigabit adapter as a second nic. it is not recognized in esxi 7. anyone has a hint for me?

whats the performance like. i was looking into building my web server off of this on a 2014 mini

Great for esxi homelab, however, for real world performance and capability would using Ubuntu as the host OS and VMware workstation be a better (more stable and compatible)solution ?

I attempted an install on a Mid-2011 MacMini Server (macmini 5,3) and kept ending with the message "No Network Adapters" stating that no network adapters were detected. I tested with a Thunderbolt adapter and a USB adapters and was successful.

Have you installed an OSX VM in esxi? Does iMessage activation work since the VM is able to read the system SMC etc?

I'm running into heat-issues, the fan is not ramping up when the server is under load. Do you have the same issue with yours (since it is placed on top of a switch)?

I have a late 2012 Mac Mini 2.5 quad core i5, 16GB RAM, 240SSD OS drive and 1TB spinning drive. I am really interested in this project but before I nuke my mini I was wondering how many VMs ( probably Debian) I should expect to get from this? why do you show different computers, one with i5 and an other with i7... since the newer Mac mini is not fully compatible with vSphere 7.0?
